Chivirico — Restaurant in Celestún

We ended up in Celestún during a rain storm that flooded the streets. We headed that direction originally because apparently there are flocks of flamingos. The rain was so heavy we didn't end up locating the flock. Unsure if we'd be able to get back across the causeway, we got a recommendation at a gas station for a place to hole up, wait it out and get dinner. We were directed to Chivirico. Don't be afraid, just go in! What it lacks in ambiance it makes up for in food. I had probably the best ceviche of my life here, which made me care less that we were watching things float down the street and hoping the rain stayed below the floor line of our rental. Looks a little sketchy from the outside but not to be missed. We were here for three weeks and tried as many restaurants in town as we could; this place tied with La Playitas as our favorites. Entramos de casualidad. No es un lugar que llame mucho la atención pero queríamos beber algo natural. Pedimos un jugo de naranja y delicioso. Nos acomodamos y decidimos comer ahí. Waaaw la comida deliciosa, porciones súper buenas. El cóctel de camarón excelente, los dedos de pescado y las papas fritas buenísimas, las quesadillas de camarón un agasajo. De verdad cuando vayas a Celestún no dudes en venir a comer aquí. Solamente les recomiendo hacer una remodelación en el lugar para llamar más la atención de los clientes y no duden en entrar a consumir. Felicidades al Chef!
