Very authentic flavor. I had Sopa de Pan and it was truly amazing. Very rich flavor and you can notice all the ingredients are very fresh. Don't miss the cheese that is served as an appetizer with avocado and bean paste, it's a must. Handmade tortillas cooked on a comal right at the entrance. Even the mash potato is made from scratch daily.
The decor, well, there are lots of local art crafts, even the waiters and musicians wear the real thing, but in some other areas is a bit too much, just to show for tourists (reason I didn't give the "Excellent" rank). What I really enjoyed were the mask on the right dinning room.
Service is fast, but don't expect the courtesy and smiles of a Wester restaurant waiter, ;) just saying, as the locals sometimes do not smile just for every reason.
Very good place to try real Chiapanecan food.

Read moreI had high expectations and kinda let me down. I went for breakfast, and we found out there was a buffet. They also offered the menu, but we stayed with the buffet. Options were limited, and they didn't have a grill for eggs and quesadillas as they do in most other places. Drink portions were also limited since they only had warmish coffee and horchata water. Service was ok. Price was affordable, but for an extra $20, you can get a way better breaky somewhere nearby. It was not bad, but I don't think I'll go back for breakfast. I've heard good comments for lunch and dinner, so maybe I'll give it a...
Read moreWent at 8pm on a Friday night - place was almost empty. Corn tortilla starter was excellent, cooked in front of us. Had the roasted torito, described as juicy meat and corn cooked with butter and melted cheese - the meat was dry and chewy, I have honestly never had a dish this bad before, it literally took two minutes of chewing to eat a mouthful. Corn was flavourless… cheese was nice.
A complete disappointing let down - urge you to avoid, or least avoid the dish I ordered. Go for the tortilla starter and a load of beer instead, or go somewhere else - either would work.
Oh and cash only - can’t...
