This hotel seemed nice at first, but there were some serious problems, mostly related to noise. Even though we had reservations at the main hotel, they put us in an "annex" a block away. This annex is right next to a public parking garage, which is undergoing renovations. They would start drilling at 7am in the morning. When we asked the hotel staff about it, their attitude was very much "not our problem". Of course, the remodeling won't go on forever, but there will then be a public, 24 hour parking garage sharing a wall with your room. So, there is that. In addition, the beds were very stiff. Finally, the fireworks would start going off as early as 5am in the morning. Now, obviously this isn't the hotel's fault, but perhaps a different hotel would have better sound proofing? Not sure.
The day trips that you can book through the hotel were good, but make sure to pay attention to how long the drive is. Some of the excursions were mostly driving. For example, Las Nubes was gorgeous, but it was also a 10 hour round trip from San Cristobal on a cramped bus going over back roads and Topes (Mexican speed bumps). Lagos de Montebello is about 6 hour round trip. I would recommend going to the closer places (the canyon was only a 2 hour round trip, and El Chiflon is only 3 hour round trip, and they were...
Read moreI left dissapointed from this location. Yes it's very centrally located but I regret ever booking at this hotel the price is insane. Not only did we have issues with the hot water but the front desk associate was trying to charge me a ridiculous amount of money to the airport and back. I used to live in Chiapas and they thought I was a full on tourist with no knowledge that transportation needs permit to come in and out of Sancristobal.
Point is. I've stayed at hostales and I can asssure you they are very good. As you can see in my pictures the food is overpriced. And the ladies at the front desk where not customer oriented at all too. I think management needs to train and put honest working people at this nice looking hotel.
✅Pros: -hotel look is very colonial -central
❌Cons: -no good wifi range -front desk was looking how to charge for More. Got jipped for 3 days even thou I stayed 2 Days. Airport transport was $1000 pesos one way. -no hot water -Bed was HORRIBLE like a rock -washroom and Floor was dirty. -Shower pad was DISGUSTING -no hairdryer (requested it several times) -Food was Expensive -1 coffee was 9 bucks! Like Starbucks lol 😂
I felt this was a bitter experience and no I will never come back here or never recommend it.
These reviews you see is from past management. Sorry. Avoid...
Read moreMy mother told me once: "If you don't have anything good to say, better say nothing". But there is one good thing about the hotel and that is the location. You can reach the places of interest very easy in less than 5 minutes without any transportation. The rooms are very dark, the ceiling is covered with wood which smells strange, and you don't have a window to the outside. The most awefull thing is that you can barely sleep. As I said there is no window to the outside but to the hallway and whoever passes your room will wake you up. In the night you can hear the noise from the bar and even later in the night people yelling in the hallways. In the morning the guys from the roomkeeping fetch there stuff and aren't quiet either. Due to the floortiles everyone who leaves the hotel early will make so much noise with their bouncing suitcase that your night is also done. The breakfast is notjinh special and if they offer you the buffet on sunday (I think it is just on sunday or maybe the complete weekend) better order something from the menu or even better go to eat outside. You aren't missing something here and there are more than...
