WOW! This is an excellent restaurant in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. While I love a whole in the wall for tacos and regular Mexican fare, Roberto here at Casa Bahia is a wonderfully talented chef with a passion and flair for international fusion. The Ceviche is to die for, the fried noodles are excellent. The pastas are wonderful. And don;t even get me started on the wonderful ambiance. Roberto took over this place only three weeks ago and already the whole town is a buzz with the news of an exceptional place to dine at a very reasonable cost. Sure it costs a little bit more than a whole in the wall, but the quality of the food is fantastic and the view is one of the best in my opinion.
You are four stories up, but right on the water. They serve breakfast and dinner. He buys his fish and other foods fresh each day in the market. Roberto was trained in Mexico city, and left well-paying and highly distinguished positions at Club Intrawest and Club Med, as well as the local university, so he could pursue his passion of excellent food. They both offered more money to keep him and Club Med even offered him an executive position. This guy is for real. No more rushed orders, no more substandard food. He personally greets every table, checks on you and prepares every dish with little help. Super friendly place, I highly recommend. It is a short a walk from Centro, but well worth it as long as Roberto is in the kitchen. Many thanks for taking care of my Wife and I twice and my entire family of 11 once. We will most definitely be back this trip and every other trip as long as...
Read moreSooooooooooo good. I ordered the catch of the day, which was a kind of fish very similar to mahi mahi and a piña colada. It was fresh and full of flavor. The fish was served with a garlic sauce that had just the right amount of roast, and spicier sauce that was flavorful without too much heat. My friends ordered the shrimp w/mole and the shrimp w/butter. They both had resounding reviews. All in all, I highly recommend it!! Also, the view is amazing!!
Also, Roberto, the chef came out to say hi. The food...
Read moreMy dear friend Anne always wanted to take a cruise that stopped in Zihuatanejo. She never made it.
She would have loved Casa Bahia. She was a major foodie and this place was 10 stars. Great view, great food, great service. She would have raved about it for days. I wore one of her tops tonight and the necklace she gave me. I really miss her.
Casa Bahia and the staff were fantastic to a single woman traveling alone. Can’t recommend this...
