La Tasca Resto-Bar & Tapas By Ruga — Restaurant in Guerrero

We had a large group meet at La Tasca for a special dinner. They charge a fee for a reservation, make sure you remember to kindly remind them to apply it to your bill. PLEASE NOTE-THEY DO NOT SEPARATE CHECKS They were pretty busy so I understand why the service was not so fast. We had some delicious appetizers-the hot wings had a light crispy batter and the hot sauce was a little sweet but a nice spice. It had some ranch that was good. We tried the tuna cracklings and that was amazing. A big portion of tuna fried on top of avocado. The calamari was good, very large rings with a crunchy panko crust and a sweet sauce. We tried the ribeye, the burger, the portobello pasta, the four cheese pasta, the mini burgers, the shrimp tasca and the ribs. Good portions and well cooked. My portobello pasta was a little under seasoned but once I added some salt it was better. Lots of big slices of portobello and a silky sauce. Didn’t taste truffle but it was good. The burgers looked good and are a nice thick patty. The ribeye was a good size and it came with potato and vegetables. Overall I think it was a great spot and just be patient. It takes ALOT for me to leave a bad review so hear me out. I really tried to like this place, the view was spectacular and the vibe was right.

But everything else..food, drinks & service were all beyond AWFUL! I ordered a meat & cheese board for my meal, you know as a tapas bar it makes sense, and between the 3 of us we ordered an appetizer and 2 other mains.

The appetizer never came, that's okay, we didn't mind. Then the 2 mains showed up 15 minutes apart and I sat there without anything in front of me for over half an hour. The server came by after everyone was done eating he told me that they didn't have any meat & cheese boards left!

I ordered at the same time as everyone else and waited over an hour and a half just to get told what I ordered wasn't available. Meanwhile the 2 people I was with were finished their dinner & I'm sitting there starving.

Completely unacceptable in my opinion. He didn't even offer a menu or alternative for me he just said sorry & blamed the kitchen. Safe to say I will never recommend this place to anyone. There are hundreds of amazing restaurants with a spectacular view, great service and food... Go elsewhere....

I love this place! We were staying at an overpriced hotel, and we wanted to go out to eat somewhere with a good menu and reasonable prices. We found La Tasca Resto-Bar situated right on the water with a gorgeous view, and the food and drinks were fantastic! This sounds ridiculous, but we liked the food and atmosphere so much we went back twice more to have dinner and cocktails during our stay. The seafood is amazing, but there are plenty of other options as well. I had a tuna steak that was to die for, and the cheese croquettes were like the food equivalent of crack cocaine they were so addictive. We ordered them all three times we went. I loved the cocktails and settled on the blue margarita over rocks as my go-to drink. Seriously everything there is delicious, you really can't go wrong. Your only mistake would be to overlook this gem. You can't beat the food, the view...
