I hadn't been to Zihuatanejo for almost 5 years. We went for a walk on the Fisherman's Walk along the bay and noticed a little bar up above the walk. We decided to take a break from the sun and have a cold one with a view.
The young man at the door told us the stools were just for people waiting for a table at the restaurant upstairs. We did't realized there was a restaurant, too.
We went up another flight of stairs to the restaurant. We ordered a couple of beers and looked at the menu.
We had already had lunch but decided to return the next day to eat.
Our first impression of the restaurant was it would be on the expensive side. They have a good selection of sandwiches and baguettes. Each comes with a small green salad, or for a dollar more you can have french fries instead.
I ordered the La Madera baguette with chicken milanesa, ham, pineapple, and cheese. My sister had the Adelita baguette with a combination of meats and cheeses.
While we were waiting for our baguettes we saw the waiter go by with other sandwiches including a huge Monte Cristo that looked delicious!
The baguettes were so big we'r could only eat half and took the other half back to the room for a snack for later.
I mentioned that it looked expensive. And, everything about the place had a high-end feel. From the staff's attentiveness to the little stand they brought to the table fored the ladies to hang their purses.
Everything expensive but the menu. The most expensive thing on the menu $7.50!
I have a new favorite lunch spot in...
Read moreThis is the place overlooking the bay, just above the Paseo de Pescadora. It's actually called La Teracita Beach, not La Teracita number 1 as it was previously labeled in Google Maps; they're open for breakfast until 12:30pm and for dinner 6pm until 10pm. The view is good, the service excellent, and the food is prepared with a little more sophistication than usual. The prices are a little higher than average but still very reasonable. We had the Caprese salad which was crisp and freshly dressed and the ribs which were succulent but nothing special. We also had a decent bottle of Chardonnay for 330 pesos. Overall a good experience and recommended for dinner...
Read moreSo, this is our first time here. We have been to Zihua every year for 4 years. We decided to give La Terracita a try. The first thing they bring is an amazing appetizer of simple chips guacamole and Pico de gallo. Simple can sometimes be amazing. We shared the Coconut salad for an appetizer, it is a unique and refreshing choice to start with. Moving on to the fish tacos. The mahi mahi was grilled, and the flavors were sublime, truly amazing. Chile relleno here can compete with the best you have ever had. You will be back after trying La Terracita once, we certainly will be. Thanks for a...
