We were really craving middle eastern food the moment we stepped off our bus in Zihua, so we decided to hit up Orient bay. Took us a little bit of time to walk up the hill but it was so worth it. The service here was excellent, we were greeted at the door and led to our table which has a beautiful view of the whole city. Now for the important part: the food was great, being half Lebanese I was expecting to be disappointed, but I was pleasantly surprised. Hummus was perfect, labneh was just as good as my Tetas (grandma) and the food was amazing. Unfortunately there was no raw kibbeh at the time but everything else was great. I even tried the tabbouleh which I have refused to try before in my life. I'd recommend the sultan sword and definitely try the tabbouleh and labneh. Read moreWe were on our way to another spot but when we passed this place and saw the reviews, we felt it was a must have.
The servers were very welcoming and friendly, especially the younger one. The place was full of retired couples, so a very calm atmosphere. The view was gorgeous and the decorations were cozy. Unfortunately it was quite hot with just one floor fan and 2 ceiling fans in the front so the back had very little air movement.
The food looked amazing on photos and the menue offered an interesting fusion of middle east and orient. We chose Sheiks Spear (think that was the name of the shared meal) and 2 margaritas.
When the food arrived, the presentation was impressive but the flavor was lacking and the portion for 2 people was quite underwhelming. The margaritas were ok, not sure if there was alcohol in them.
Overall, we do not regret trying it out but one...
Read moreMy husband took me here for my birthday. It was a great experience, atmosphere and lovely dinner. Definitely unexpected and takes you away from Mexico for a moment into the far east. A variety of choices of Mediterranean cuisine, Indian and Thai. We had the Sultan Sword which was really good. What made dinner even more special was the live belly dance to some Arabic music. The owner is also nice and friendly and introduced the dancer and the evening. The service was good as well. They also have outdoor dining also. But definitely best to make reservations and confirm it as this place gets full on belly dancing night. Walk in will get turn away and you don't want to miss out on this hidden gem so make your reservations online. Definitely will be back when I come back to...
