If you’re visiting the Statue of Jesus Christ / el Cristo Monumental de Taxco this place is definitely worth a visit either before or after. It’s a very easy 10 minute walk from the statue.
I came on a Sunday evening, just before sunset and it was fairly quiet. This is a local joint. The other patrons were friendly. I was told this place is really busy, fun and lively on Thursdays.
It’s a family run place and I spoke with the very friendly proprietor before I left. They’ve been in business for several decades now.
I had the green pozole. Best pozole I’ve have in Mexico yet. It refueled me after I decided to walk up from the zócalo. Super affordable. I got the small and it was more than filling.
