This is a unique restaurant offering an amazing combination of delicious food, fantastic views, relaxing vibe, and friendly service. There is inside seating as well as an outdoor deck that is literally a few dozen steps from the ocean. There are even a handful of cool rope swing seats for more casual seating facing the ocean. We stayed next door at the Mayakita Villas for a week (highly recommend staying there as well) and ate breakfast here every single day as well as lunch once. It was so good we genuinely looked forward to breakfast daily. Every single meal we had throughout the week was amazing, from steak and eggs, to avocado toast, to waffles and fruit bowls. We had a variety of different smoothies (in addition to coffee) every day which were also delicious. Service was outstanding and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. The staff could easily communicate in both Spanish or English. As an added bonus, they are the hub of the BTC Isla initiative so they gladly accept Bitcoin for payment (in addition to pesos, USD and credit cards). Overall, I cannot say enough good things about Mayakita, it was a major highlight...

Mayakita is a great spot for a relaxed breakfast with beautiful ocean views. We found it while driving around the island in a golf cart and decided to stop in, and we’re glad we did. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the sound of the waves makes it a peaceful place to start the day.

The food was excellent. I had a fresh green juice that was light and refreshing, and the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. We also ordered the steak and eggs, which came with mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, and crispy potatoes. It was flavorful and well-prepared—a hearty and satisfying option.

What really stood out was the view. Sitting right by the ocean added so much to the experience, making it not just about the food but also the setting. It’s a place where you can take your time and enjoy both the meal and the scenery. If you’re exploring Isla Mujeres, Mayakita is definitely worth a visit for breakfast or brunch. It’s a simple, welcoming spot with good food and...

If you are looking for the best breakfast on the island, YOU FOUND IT! Jorge is so welcoming we arrived before opening and he served us delicious coffee, lattes and mimosas while the kitchen opened! There is a lovely beach spot right in front of the restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and fun swings! The restaurant is clean and the servers professional kind and accommodating! Jorge was our server and he was amazing! We decided to come back and he remembered us, the first time we went it became busy over the lunch hour and the servers worked their tails off to make sure we never had an empty plate in front of us they always had smiles and truly were so welcoming! Can’t recommend it enough 10/10!! If you come to the island don’t miss out...

Every waiter, cab driver, and local shopkeeper told we had to come to Mayakita for breakfast and so we took our little golf cart to the beautiful Caribbean Seaside restaurant and boy, were we ever thrilled with our experience!! Outstanding menu, diversity of selections, freshly prepared, elegantly served by beautiful humble people running the restaurant, very fair pricing, and just one delicious mouthful after another. I had avocado toast, my husband had eggs Benedict, he had a mimosa, I had a smoothie, and we sat and chatted and looked at the sea for well over an hour after we finished eating without any pressure to vacate our table. We will definitely be back.
