Black Kitchen Chapala — Restaurant in Jalisco

We rented a hotel on the Chapala Malecon for 2 weeks and had a chance to roam around this lakeside town. We had heard for years that Chapala had a more Mexican flavor than where we live in Ajijic. Many had told us prices were lower for most things and we found that to be mostly true. This small restaurant Black Kitchen sounded kind of well let's say not well named for a place to eat. We were sceptical of a sandwich for 45 pesos so my gal ordered it and it was very good with slices of grilled chicken lettuce tomato and onion. I had the omelette special which was packed with eggs bacon ham onion tomato and cheese. Came with frijoles and a small salad. Huge portion and delicious 85 pesos. Cafe 25 pesos or Americano 30. I have been back 2 more times and each were very good breakfasts with the last 2 breakfast burritos with egg and ham 60 pesos. Breakfasts in Ajijic and San Antonio can go for 150 to 200 pesos so Black Kitchen is great at half the price even if u have to park a few blocks from the place.
