WATCH YOUR BILL AND DO YOUR CALCULATIONS!!!! The atmosphere here is nice and homey, food was “okay”, nothing special but not terrible.
BUT, the service was subpar, I don’t mind slower service but if I am the only table getting slow service then we got a problem. A large group came 10 mins after us and they were served appetizers (chips/salsa) before us, we had to ask about it to get served.
The bill is handwritten which is fine but the charges DO NOT ADD UP. I saw reviews about bill upcharges so I knew to be cautious (as you should be at every dining establishment anyways), and yup, the bill was wrong and I had to ask for an adjustment. When paying with card, the server asked for tip and we gave but he would not let us see the total before swiping the card, we had to ask to double check the amount. Most restaurants will show u the amount on the card reader and let you click tip amount ON YOUR OWN etc etc
Overall, scammy feeling of a restaurant and I would not come again. If you are a TOURIST, keep...
Read moreIf I can give zero, I definitely will. The drinks were water down and food burnt. With my american breakfast, I had three of the thinnest burnt bacon I have ever seen. We asked for extra salsa and they charged us MXN 85 (w/o telling us). Some places give free refills. We waited over 30mins for horrible food in the heat. There is no A/C. For 3 people, our bill was MXN 805 and we didn't have anything special. They might have inflated the price. When we received the bill, the total did not add up. We asked them and they said that it was tax. Then they said it was for service. If people did not know, they would have tipped again. I guess if you look like a tourist, they will scam you. I don't understand why there are five stars unless it's an inside job. Please read the other comments with 1 star and there is a consistent complaint. Just walk further down to the marina (only 10 mins). I recommend La Terrazza...
Read moreWe came here for breakfast before our flight home and it was our least favorite place in the Marina. Most of the food at the marina is not authentic, however, this place not only lacked flavor but everything was overcooked.
My cousin ordered the chilaquiles which came with fried eggs that were cooked so long the yolks was dry and grainy. They also used their tortilla chips which are great with salsa, but too thin to handle the sauce. The chilaquiles were soggy within minutes of being delivered to the table.
The machaca & eggs were bland and rubbery. We thought this dish at Los Palomas was subpar, but I couldn't even finish it here.
If you need to eat around the marina, I would suggest going to any other place. This was our most expensive and least appetizing breakfast this trip (and any other past...
