We wanted to try Olive for some time. We won´t wait so long to go back! The atmosphere is very relaxing, the service is wonderful - and friendly! - and the food is delicious. We started with the lemon and chicken soup and the mushrooms and shallots in a parmesan cream sauce; both were very fresh and tasty. Next, we had pork medallions - cooked perfectly - and a chicken breast that was absolutely stuffed with tomato, garlic and feta cheese. The galaktoboureko which is phyllo stuffed with custard and orange peel and drizzled with chocolate sauce and strawberries was a great dessert. Olive also offers a good selection of wines to go with the meal. The setting is unique - Chef Ruben lived in this home before converting it into a restaurant. Its very comfortable, from the gracious entry to the swimming pool just beyond the first floor dining patio, to the upstairs terrace which offers great views of Versalles and the nearby Sierra Madre mountains! Chef Ruben and his team are excellent and efficient; we sat next to a large party of 12, and noticed that every course for all tables came out together and noone ever seemed to wait or want for anything. Olive is a great addition to the Versalles...

Extremely disappointed with this place. Before ordering I asked the waiter if the scallops were fresh, and he said yes. Upon receiving them it was clear to me that they were not fresh, likely many days or weeks old, and on top of this they were extremely rubbery and completely lacking flavor, absolutely not cooked how a scallop should be. I confronted the waiter and finally he admitted the scallops were WEEKS old. Then for the rack of lamb, again very lackluster and not worth the price, however it was at least cooked properly. It is clear they care more about painting the plates with tacky decorative designs made from red and yellow paint like inedible sauces. On top of this, neither the chef nor manager came to see me to understand what was wrong and try to fix the problem, mind you this was on a rainy night when I was the only person in the restaurant… what else were they doing? Trust me and take your money to Cafe Des Artistes; they are lightyears ahead of this catastrophe at olive. For exactly 1000 pesos- 1.5/5 rating and another thing is the waiter refused to give me an itemized receipt, just one with the total as 1000 mxn. Take it...

We live in Vallarta and this was our first time dining at Olive....and there will be many more! The food is Greek based but prepared with the freshness, taste and presentation style of Mexico. We ordered a sampling of many dishes and all were outstanding. The Tepanade, Zuflacki, Humus were first, then the Greek and the Beet salads - both excellent. Then a Vegetarian Moussaka and the Chicken Brochette, also excellent. For postres, the fig with ice cream option, I cannot recall the name. Again, excellent. Our waiter was very attentive. The spaces up and downstairs were quiet. The building is lovely and has a swimming pool which suggests that the structure initially was a large home. Ruben was on vacation, hope to meet him...

Had a wonderful lunch at Olive, where we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and accommodating owner, Ruben. He shared great recommendations and a bit of the restaurant’s history—it's housed in his family’s former hacienda, adding to its charm. We loved the setting, open-air dining on the second floor and a sparkling pool beside the downstairs tables, creating a serene yet elegant ambiance. We enjoyed crispy, golden Spanakopita, a hearty Vegetarian Moussaka, and ended on a high note with a flamed fig dessert topped with ice cream—an absolute must-try! Already looking forward to returning for dinner!
