As an Irishman who has been living in Guadalajara for five years now, RIP is a Godsend. Not just the only place in town where one can find draught Guinness on tap, but the only pub in all of Mexico!
The place feels like home, from the quirky collection of famous and notorious Irish people on the walls, to the cosy corners, darkly lit ambiance, and of course, the friendly welcome of the staff.
The attached photos are from the week before Christmas (hence my Santa hat 🎅🏼 ), when songs were sung, Guinness was poured, and some seriously suspicious dancing was performed.
My only complaint is that the pub is only open from Thursdays to Sundays (from 20:00 onwards), which is a shame, as it’s great craic and more people should cross its threshold. Anywho, may your soirées there be bountiful and merry, and your hangovers be light. Fáilte...
Read moreWell .. i have to agree with the guys from San diego.. My first trip to the RIP and what a night,, draught Guinness which i am stunned about and then the owners Abraham and Carlos produced a "steel tip dart board" which i am sure will be on the wall in the coming months.. The hospitality of the guys was second to none, the friendliness was genuine.. and the craic was 90.. I even managed to play a "Kesh Jig" with a pair of spoons!.. Really really nice place.. with very sincere Irish values..while still offering the excellent "Mexico" traditionally great service of foods and drinks.. Note the Tiqueila was local and very nice Thanks guys.. looking forward to the next time..keep me posted on planned Irish music sessions.. I will make an appearance! niall from Galway... West...
Read moreWe travelled to Guadalajara from San Diego for a few days and came across the Real Irish Pub online after searching for a place to have a drink. We’re originally from Ireland and after reading the positive reviews decided to check it out. The pub was amazing and the staff were incredibly generous and welcoming. It felt like home as soon as we walked in the door. The Guinness was delicious and my wife and her friend loved the local Gin they served. We spoke with the owners during our visit to compliment them on the pub and our drinks, and they generously gave us a bottle of Gin to take home. I’m really happy we decided to go here and I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for a cozy and friendly spot...
