Saved the best seafood taco place for last! This was an experience that was so good, my friends and I all agreed to come back for more.
We got there after 4 pm and the place was packed. There's a line up to order that looked like a theater line at an opening for a hit movie. But don't worry - it moved fast.
Two big surprises: the taste of the fish tacos and the low price! Please note that I like the odd greasy food like fish and chips, so this place really satisfied my craving for fried seafood.
The tacos were huge! I'd say they were about the size of four regular tacos that you would normally get at any given taco stand. The condiments were amazing as well. There were two long food stands that had fresh coleslaw, onions, fried onions, tomato salsa and regular slawed cabbage. There were a million hot sauces in small bottles and about 5-6 different creamy sauces in squeeze bottles. I wanted to try all of them but ended up being too full after eating the first taco. The condiments were fresh due to the number of customers constantly eating there. I would hazard a guess that they served upwards of a few hundred per hour.
I would recommend getting two tacos and loading up your plate with the veggies as a salad. Use the sauces as a salad dressing and sprinkle some of the hot sauces to give it a kick.
In terms of drinks, there were waiters and waitresses that walked around and served you the drinks. They were readily available at all times. They really knew how to serve in chaos with so many customers sitting, standing, and walking around this street corner.
Parking was a real problem because of the traffic from the large street and the small businesses in the side streets. But this pain was definitely worth it to get a taste of their tacos.
If you're in Gudalajara, this is definitely a place you don't...
Read moreOMG Terrible experience at this place. It's the worst experience we ever had. We will never recommend this place to any of our friends or family. The place was overcrowded and its very unorganised. When we entered the premises, there was a huge crowd, we didn't understand what's happening there. There is no sign or instructions where to order the food and the ground was yuckk with food, dirty tissues and damp floor. Most of the tables were occupied and the salad bars were stinking. We had prawn tacos and quesadillas, burritos with shrimp and among all the burritos were decent to eat while the prawn tacos were dripping with oil and the tacos were so dry. The quesadillas were awful. Dry and disgusting. The meat inside was so horrible. Not sure what quality meat they use. We felt it was very worse. One of the staff was bit friendly and helped us how to order and she also couldn't find few seats for us to sit and eat. Felt sick and nauseous after eating them.
Finally, we had beautiful experience in Lapaz fish tacos at LAPAZ a week ago and that one was so amazing. We thought this restaurant would be the same and totally got deceived. I think only the same was same but everything else is nothing the same. Not sure how they have such good google reviews. That's another way we fell for it. Save your money, health and go to some...

From the taco de camarón especialades to the Marlin taco de dorado to taco de choyero y the barre de ensalada (y condiments), I've visited this busy casual outdoor restaurant no less than seven times over two trips to Guadalajara for a reason; that's the consistently great fresh seafood tacos. Never once disappointed.
Get in line, order, pay, hand your ticket to the cooks, take your tacos to the rolling alimentos cart, throw carrot slaw, cebollas, pico, chipotle mayo, hot sauce on top y enjoy super tasty grande tacos at one of the several folding lunch tables for less than 100 pesos*
