Listen, these tacos are bomb! Not even going to lie about that. Great food and fast service. However, Erick the "manager" talked us into going to see a hotel and seeing if it would be a good fit for when we come back to cabos instead of staying where we were. Erick failed to mention anything about a timeshare or a private club share. I knew there was a catch but Erick said there wasn't.I signed a paper that agreed to a presentation of the hotel for 75 minutes after breakfast. Fast forward, when it came down to buy property and going over numbers, I kept telling Tadeo that I am not interested in purchasing not one thing from that place. Of course him doing his job kept going down on numbers. Again, I repeatedly told him NO. His manager walks over and does the same However, he gets mad and slams the paper over. Erick failed to mention anything about having to buy property at this "presentation" so anyone that is not looking to purchase property at an expensive hotel. Avoid getting cheap tickets from this place. Lesson learned for sure! By the way! They keep deleting my comment. This is my second comment...
Read moreWe have our “to go” places in Cabo but received a couple recommendations from folks regarding Taqueria El Paisa. It is centrally located near the famous Tacos Guss. The exterior and interior is well-decorated, which can draw people inside.
We ordered several tacos (pastor, carne asada, and shrimp). We also ordered a baked potato filled with cheese and topped with carne asada, which was interesting. All of the food tasted fine.
Here is the problem with this establishment. They have vacation club (also known as timeshare) hawks walking around creating small talk to peddle discounted activities in exchange for participating in a timeshare presentation at the Garza Resort.
I was shocked to experience this while we and others were eating. Furthermore, they have a dedicated salesman standing at the entrance peddling the presentation to people walking by. What an odd business model. As such, we will never return, which is unfortunate because the food seems good...
Read moreFood: GOOD. Time Share sales pitch: BAD.
The food is decent, but the manager, Erik M., will try and get you to visit the Garza Blanca Resort & Spa. This is a scam to get you sucked into a 3 hour long time share/membership presentation. He will ask how your meal was and then ask if you would like to take a trip to The Arch or some other excursion. This is where the sales pitch starts. He will offer a free or heavily discounted deal in return for visiting the Garza Blanca hotel, “just to look around.” He will then add on a free meal at el Paisa that evening. After that he will offer a Cabo hoody, a Cabo bag, and a bottle of tequila. Erik will write all of this up on a ticket so it looks official. The Garza Blanca hotel is past Chileno Beach so you will be stuck there unless you get yourself an Uber back. Most likely you won’t get any of the free things that...
