Nestled in the vibrant heart of Mérida, MORA emerges as a culinary gem, transporting diners to the rich and aromatic landscapes of India. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting ambiance, complemented by impeccable hospitality, sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

The menu at MORA is a testament to the diversity and authenticity of Indian cuisine. Begin your journey with the potato samosa, perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, revealing a savory filling that delights with every bite. Accompany this with a refreshing mango lassi, a creamy, sweet elixir that soothes the palate and readies it for the flavors ahead.

For those craving a taste of tradition, the pakoda is a must-try. These crispy, spiced fritters are light yet bursting with flavor, an ideal start to a sumptuous meal. The butter chicken, a house specialty, is a masterpiece of tender chicken enveloped in a luscious, creamy tomato sauce that harmonizes spices with a velvety finish. Each bite is a comforting embrace of classic Indian flavors.

Vegetarians will find solace in the paneer stew, where cubes of homemade paneer swim in a rich, aromatic gravy, offering a perfect balance of spices and textures. The homemade roti, soft and warm, serves as the ideal companion, perfect for scooping up every last bit of the delicious sauces.

MORA’s dedication to authenticity is evident in every dish, meticulously prepared using fresh ingredients and traditional techniques. The extensive variety of dishes ensures that there is something for every palate, each plate a vibrant representation of India's culinary heritage.

In a city renowned for its rich cultural tapestry, MORA stands out as a beacon of Indian culinary excellence. With its exceptional service, inviting atmosphere, and an array of dishes that capture the essence of India, MORA is more than just a restaurant—it is a celebration of flavor and tradition. Whether you are a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or a curious newcomer, MORA promises an exquisite dining experience that lingers long after the...

It had been a long time since I had an Indian curry and MORA did not disappoint at all. I was surprised to find to have the place to myself (delivery had stopped as the owner wasn't satisfied with the service offered, taking true pride in the food). I was ready to order a portion of pakora, but was advised some pieces would come as a courtesy. Great and friendly service and those pieces certainly whet my appetite. Mango lassi was well-flavoured, but it was the curry that hit the spot just right for me. Intensely spiced without being spicy, lovely tender pieces of chicken, supple moppable roti breads (my preference over rice most of the time). Honestly I was satisfied, but also impressed with the genuine flavours coming out of the kitchen, so I allowed myself to be tempted by the carrot pudding suggested by the lovely staff. Again, I was met by a wonderful concoction of slowly cooked carrots and nuts in milk (if I remember correctly). Warmly spiced, it was arguably too rich after such a satisfying curry, but while it may not sound like much on the menu, it is truly recommendable. I was advised that at other times the few tables in this, essentially, living room style restaurant fill up quickly. For comfort in the Mérida climate, I hope they'll be able to improve the efficiency of the airco in the room. The large television screen with bollywood songs isn't my preference of ambience, but hardly surprising or off-putting considering one visits a curry house. An unexpectedly worthwhile addition to Mérida's international...

Eating here feels like being invited into someone’s home for a lovingly prepared meal and perhaps that’s exactly the case. My whole family, kids included, absolutely loves coming here, and we’ve had our fair share of Indian food in different countries. This place ranks high on our list.

I’ve eaten more types of samosas than I can count, and this one is the best. The wrapper is thinner and flakier, not thick, fried, and dry like so many others. It’s bursting with flavor, and while I could easily keep eating them nonstop, I know I have so much more on the menu to try. The green peas inside are the small, young, fresh ones that pop in your mouth and not the dried, frozen kind you usually find in samosas. I wish I knew where they sourced them!

When we come as a family, we can order a variety and end up sampling almost everything on the menu. The butter chicken is thick, creamy, and packed with flavor. We always start with a couple of pakoras, and the mutter paneer is soft, silky, and absolutely excellent. I love when all the flavors start to mingle together on my plate.

Service is always warm and attentive, making the experience even better. My kids are already asking when we can go back. For some reason I always want to go on Tuesdays and that is one of the days...

The restaurant offers free WiFi and attentive service from a friendly waitress. The dining area is small, with just four tables, and appears to be set in what might once have been a private home’s living room. While beautifully decorated, the acoustics leave much to be desired—sounds reverberate throughout the space. Unfortunately, this means that a single loud guest, such as the talkative older woman present during my visit, can significantly diminish the ambiance. I ordered the Butter Chicken with Naan, which they refer to as “Roti.” The bread was more akin to a whole-wheat tortilla—serviceable but not particularly memorable. The Butter Chicken sauce itself was flavorful and well-prepared, though the chicken was overcooked and had an unpleasant texture. For dessert, the Chai Tea was enjoyable and rounded off the meal nicely. For an Indian restaurant in a small Mexican town, the food was decent. However, the overall experience was marred by the noisy environment, particularly as the dining room became crowded by the end of my visit. This would be a much more pleasant spot to dine in quieter circumstances, but be prepared for the potential disruption if the space is busy.

This is a restaurant that everyone needs to try. The service is impeccable yet friendly and helpful. The food is well seasoned, not very spicy (you can get more spice ) and very flavourful! Truly was a pleasure. The samosa are the moistest and lightest pastry I’ve ever tried in a samosa- and generously sized. We have searched for an Indian restaurant and those we have tried in the area- beach to Merida- have not come up to snuff. This is completely different. Such a joy to have found it and experienced it. We had the butter chicken, the chicken palak, raita, strawberry water, mango lassi, aromatic rice, paratha (both) and they start you off with a little breaded and fried onion amuse bouche called pakoda Can’t wait to go back!
