Visiting from Florida for 5 days. Worst meal in Merida. From my 9yo- "The server was very nice, But the food was a different case. The food is the BADDEST food ever! The tortillas STINK and the salad is so sour you would cry, the ribs were dry, and kind of flavourless, and they were sweet too. Who makes ribs sweet? This place is HORRIBLE, and I do not recommend it."

The guacamole wasn't seasoned, was ok. The venison and pork belly tacos were average with no condiments or salsa on the side. The kids burger was overcooked. The birria taco was good although the sauce was a bit too sweet for me. The worst were the ribs. I make killer ribs at home so I know the process well. These were boiled ahead of time without any rub, reheated, and then the sauce was just brushed on. No flavor in the meat, barely at room temperature, and the sauce itself was just sweet with no tang or any other flavor/kick. Priciest item on the menu too. We had 2 off the 10 ribs and left them. No one asked why or offered any rebate - to be clear we didn't ask for one but it's common courtesy to ask customers who leave9 dishes mostly untouched for feedback. Mezcal cocktails were ok, just light on the mezcal. Overall the venue/ambience is cool in a gentrifying district. One of those hip places that need to raise their culinary game MULTIPLE notches. Will never visit again.

PS MUGY and the restaurant at hacienda xcanatun are similarly priced and much much better food and ambience. Go there if you are going to...

Terrible. The waiter called Fernando gave a tip even when we told him not to and lied about. Do NOT go here, Merida has better places.

Service was very slow. We waited 30mins to get a water and coca cola. And the place was quite empty.

We ordered burgers with kimchi (one with the fries and one with a salad instead). We got 8 small pieces of fries and tiny baby sized cup of salad which had 5 leaves. Not sure i would even call that a salad. Felt very disappointed at this point but the burger looked good so still had some hope.

The chicken was tasty but otherwise it was a let down. The kimchi was of a whole lettuce leaf and I couldn't bite through it. So I had to remove mine. There wasn't any sauce so it felt a bit dry.

After we got the bill we were asked if we wanted to till. And since we had an unpleasant time we said no. Fernando then took our card and proceeded to add 10% without us seeing and after we paid we got a notification on our phone of the amount which was higher than the bill.

He tried to play dumb at first and was hiding the bill. When we took the bill and asked he said that 10% was minimum which isn't on the menu and we were never informed. Very shady behaviour and not okay at all from a restaurant that is supposed to be good. I wasn't planning on reviewing the restaurant until...

Sorry Luca but what you can expect as a New year experience is far AWAY from what you have delivered. Paying USD 80.- pp is totally exaggerate for what we got. A soup, very good, a risotto with champignons, well cooked but where is the cremoso that you mentioned on the menu !? No bread, no small appetiser, no generosity... And the desert was a simple cake we'll done but is this worse a 80.- usd menu !? For us simply the worse we ever had at a 31st ! We have missed, generosity, precision, quality music (the 70s playlist was booring and the mariachis were just out of any rhythm and correct sounds).

But definitely the location is amazing but let's be honest nobody can be happy for...

This place feels like a secret speakeasy when you’re coming in. Very understated entry with just two large metal doors with the name of the bar on them. You walk down a lush, well-lit passageway that leads to the intimate inner sanctum. There are several different parts to this converted precision factory. There’s a traditional bar, a wine bar with local beers, a discotheque (weekends), a cinema, an art gallery and a really beautiful courtyard with spacious seating. We wish we could have stayed longer. We’re certainly making this a place we come to on every trip to Mérida. Feels like a well-kept secret, as locals took us here, so few tourists (like us). The staff spoke English.

Unique Lebanese fusion food, slightly off-track to the original dishes. I’ve been here twice and both times, the food was good taste-wise. What was a bit annoying is that some of the dishes haven’t written down all ingredients in their menu list (e.g. the Ceviche contains avocado and it’s not written anywhere). As for the Tabbouleh, it was more of a bulgur salad than a typical Tabbouleh as 90+% of it was simple bulgur. The music is too loud if you sit inside, which makes talking kinda hard. All over, it’s a nice experience, not fully worth the price, but good to experience some fusion dishes.

I enjoyed great Mexican wine and a nice crafted cocktail at Salon Gallos. I think this is the most exciting and creative multidisciplinary space in Merida. Located in an old factory, it kept the old machinery which makes it very interesting. The lovely lady who works there have us a tour of the space which includes a restaurant, lovely patio, wine bar, movie theatre, private dining space, art gallery with rotating exhibitions and a music venue! I wish I discovered this earlier on my trip and had a chance to attend a live music event. A must see when you’re in Merida!
