Carnitas Don Bigote Mx — Restaurant in Mexico City

I have just visited this restaurant, and it was incredible. The speciality here are the Carnitas, and what a thing to specialise in.

I was in the area for no particular reason, and when walking past I noticed that magical word... CARNITAS. They had me. I sat outside and browsed the menu, but I knew that it was a pointless task, I was always having Carnitas, the only decision was whether to have 3 or 4. I went with 3... initially.

Lots of restaurants and taquerias here in CDMX have relatively cheap tacos 8-15 pesos or so. Here the tacos I chose were 28 pesos, but here is the thing, they were fully packed unlike some other restaurants.

I know what you are thinking, 3 must have been enough, right? Well, yeah they were, however, I tipped myself over the edge and ordered in that 4th as soon as I started the 3rd. I was not waiting for that 4th after a break, it would've been curtains for me.

In all seriousness, top this with some lemon, salt and onions, followed by however much salsa you can handle (which I recommend, because it does add a nice kick). The staff here helped me pick the milder of the salsas on offer, so don't be afraid to ask if you have a delicate palette like mine.

As always, I accompanied my meal with a glass of Jamaica water. No surprises there. Again, this drink gives great balance.

Las carnitas son muy buenas, nada grasosas, las porciones de los tacos son suficientes y bien servidas. Las instalaciones están limpias, ordenadas y cómodas. El servicio es muy atento, rápido y amable... Todo bien, peeeeero los precios son muy altos. Ejemplo: un taco de carnitas $30, un sope $40... Y son tortillas taqueras que, ya te la sabes, son pequeñas... Éso es el único "pero" que yo encuentro. Recomendable: la crema de chicharrón es muuuuuuuuuuy buena.
