Arte Carrillo Gil Museum — Attraction in Mexico City

I wouldn't recommend going here unless you have lots of time and money to get rid of. We went after exploring another nearby museum because of the great reviews, and were shocked. The entry is NOT CHEAP--at least not by Mexican standards--as it cost about $6 usd/person. It's also really small, and one of the three floors was basically completely empty. There were probably 5 or more guards per every visitor, and we got scolded for taking "too many" photos (even though I saw fewer than 10 visitors throughout the entire building). As someone who's been to Mexico City multiple times and whose fiancé is from there, there are far better things to do in the area...

I have been visiting museums in CDMX but this was my first visit and I was just very impressed, the architecture makes it so easy to see the exhibits. Ni origen ni torbellino, was my favorite, great pieces from Rivera, Siqueiros, Ernst, Orozco all were very well curated, and in my opinion, the pieces represented what is happening in the world right now; but Bordes fron Pecanins was the perfect contraposition to the chaotic world that we are living, normal simple things, objects from our daily life. El lugar es muy tranquilo pero, si estas buscando "verdaderas" obras de arte no te recomiendo ir a este museo ya que solo tienen pinturas abstractas, librería y una tienda de mercancía. El edificio es muy grande para las pocas obras de "arte" que tienen. El trato de los trabajadores es regular, ya que el trato es clasista y además los guardias de seguridad si ven que tienes una vestimenta sencilla te siguen a todos lados y eso es incomodo, pero hay otros trabajadores que te atienden de una manera amable. La entrada es gratis para: alumnos (con credencial vigente), profesores y personas con discapacidad (mostrando su credencial), en tanto al precio para el publico en general es de $120 en adelante. En cuanto a la accesibilidad para personas con discapacidad, tendrían que tener más iluminación para las personas con baja visión, no recomiendo que asistan personas con discapacidad visual total ya que no hay líneas guías ni tampoco personal capacitado para atender estos casos, en cuanto a las personas con discapacidad motriz no tendrán ningún problema en recorrer el museo ya que cuenta con rampas y elevador. Para las personas con demás discapacidades es aconsejable ir con un acompañante ya que hay objetos sin vidrio protector o líneas de seguridad y puede ocurrir un accidente. Para llegar al museo la línea 1 del metrobus te deja a 2 cuadras del museo aproximadamente tienes que caminar 5 minutos, la estación se llama ALTAVISTA. También puedes bajarte en la estación del metro MIGUEL ANGEL DE QUEVEDO, aunque tendrás que caminar 15 minutos...
