Esther — Restaurant in Mexico City

We were looking for a place to eat after walking around Mexico City all day. We came across this restaurant that had a long lineup and a lot of people eating out in the front too.

It smelled really good and the food looked amazing, so we gave it a go. We ordered Tlacoyos and made the unfortunate mistake of thinking we can finish 3 each. The portion sizes are very generous and they don't cheap out on the meats.

The taste and quality were definitely great! For the price you pay, I think this is probably one of the most filling meals we've had.

Although they didn't understand any English, they still did their best to accommodate us and serve us. We really enjoyed our visit - I'd recommend this...

If you are pressed for time, do not eat here. It took us an hour to get seated and another half hour to order. The number system provided by the restaurant is quite disorganized and confusing. There are three different types of people calling out numbers, one for take out, one for a table, and one to take your dine in order. The food was good, but not one hour and a half good. Came here since we needed food quickly because our child was going to have a tantrum. We went here because it was close to the place we were staying. We could speak very little Spanish which was an unfair position to put them in. Esther employees were kind, gracious, and very patient with us. Food was amazing.
