La Galeterie — Restaurant in Mexico City

I usually love coming here for breakfast when I visit Mexico City however I went last week and this place won first place in worst service. Line was long and there were tables available however the person seating them didn’t seem eager to sit them efficiently When we finally sat down, we didn’t get our beverage order taken until much later We did not have utensils available when we got to our table and I had to ask three different staff members for a fork. One of the waiters rudely said they’d bring it to the table but they arrived much after we had already served ourselves food from the buffet There were no plates available for serving ourselves food various times but it turned out ok given there was also no food out for a while since the food was running out quickly. I’ve seen this place busy and they’ve been able to keep up with the clientele but I don’t know what happened that day.

This place is terrible. The staff behaved in a rather unpleasant manner, there is a sign by the entrance that says you must wait to be seated, the place had loads of tables so I asked if they could seat us and the people making the food started making fun of us in Spanish, thinking we wouldn't understand. The waiter only came to take our order after we called him, despite the fact that we had been waiting for a while. It took them an eternity to bring us the bill, I would understand if there were a lot of people. That was not the case.

The churros were not that good, the ice cream is actually soft cream, the cups had cracks and tears and the drinks had zero sugar.

Con tristeza tengo que poner lo que al día de hoy considero justo en calificación de este lugar. Habitué ir seguido con mi pareja antes de la pandemia, y nos sorprendió desde la primera vez con sus ricos buñuelos y deliciosos churros con un chocolate belga, tanto que siempre pedíamos para llevar a parte de lo que consumiamos en el lugar. Acudimos nuevamente con ilusión el día 25 de marzo, pedimos unas crepas saladas parisina y farmer, acompañando con una soda italiana. Las porciones siguen siendo generosas y el sabor lo dejaré en "bueno" nada fuera de lo común, la soda italiana la sirvieron al tiempo, cuando deber ser fría. Hasta ese momento todo iba "aceptable", la cereza del pastel fue cuando pedimos dos órdenes de churros para llevar y un buñuelo, los cuales, por confianza no revisamos al momento, y nos dio la nada grata sorpresa, al llegar a casa, de churros duros e insípidos, feos sinceramente, y el buñuelo en sabor lo mismo. El servicio es otra cuestión, entiendo que cuando hay personal nuevo hay que ser considerado, pero pareciera ni capacitación les dan. Cuando llegamos, nadie nos ofreció lugar ni servicio, hasta que me vieron ir por ir perchero por cuenta propia 10 min. después de haber llegado, fue que nos empezaron a atender. Hago esta larga crítica porque considero que el lugar tiene mucho que ofrecer, como lo fue cuando lo conocimos antes de 2020, con esta experiencia ahora solo iré si me queda de paso, y espero para ese momento ya hallan tomado en cuenta comentarios como este, porque veo que no...
