Sonora Grill Narvarte — Restaurant in Mexico City

During my 5 day stay in Mexico City, I apparently saved the best for last! It was my intention to eat only traditional foods during my visit and for me, that was tacos of all varieties. I mainly ate at the local restaurants open on the street. I wasn't disappointed and the food was great. But the tacos at Sonora Grill are truly delicious. I ordered the "Campechano" which had a blend of arrachera steak, sausage and chicharrón. The arrachera steak is finely cut and one of my favorites. Chicharrón translated is pork rinds, but this is more like thick bacon. The staff was friendly and professional, as one would expect. The atmosphere is classy and the prices are very reasonable. When I was first seated, I was brought complimentary house made chips with an amazing bean dip still sizzling in the cast iron skillet. They set out six varieties of hot sauce: three mild and three hot. I was warned about the three hot. My favorite was the 3 chilis. (Spicy, but no too bad.) This was a first class experience and Sonora Grill is definitely worth the visit for great Mexican fare even if it sounds...

We were 9 persons for lunch on 2018/08/11. It's a nice place. The jugo de carne and the meat of the Rib Eye were very good, although the meat was almost well done instead of medium rare. Salmon was so so and salad was not liked by a person but another one liked her different salad. The service was good. But the music was too loud. We asked the staff to lower the volume, which they did a little. Lowering to a level when you can chat easily and the music would not be bothering people was aparently not allowed. So we asked the owner or manager to lower it more. His answer was that this loudness was his concept ... Well, will we be back there? No, since it seems we're not a fit for...

Amazing service. But I had to ask to be moved 2 times due to the volume of the music. Then had to ask the staff to turn it down. You would think after seeing this mentioned so many times in the reviews they would adjust it better.

We ordered a mixed drink, wine, steak, creamed spinach, and the mushrooms. The speciality drinks were okay. Nothing over the top. The spinach was cold and okay. The mushrooms were tasty and the steak fantastic. We enjoyed the complimentary dip at the beginning.
