I've always been interested in Achara since it opened, and I finally convinced a group of friends to go.

We managed to get a reservation after much persuasion under the implicit agreement that we vacate within 2 hours, which was fine, but certainly set the stage for what could only be an incredible experience, right?

Honestly every dish tasted fine, nothing tasted bad, but not a single dish actually tasted like Thai food and the biggest flaw across every single thing was the complete lack of spice.

I don't expect Thai spicy, but we're in Mexico, you'd think that there would at least be a little spice....? Certainly more than you're average Midwest Thai joint...

Not so. If I were to have approached this experience with no specific type of food in mind, ok, maybe it's some bland type of fusion, but when you say it's Thai food, at least throw a chili pepper in there.

Drinks were very tasty, but the wait on everything is pretty serious and the hype and ambiance never lived up to the flavors.

I love this restaurant, by far the most authentic Thai flavors I’ve tried after living in Mexico for so many years. It ticked all my craving boxes. Green curry was my favorite but I did try my friends dishes also and I’d prefer one of everything next time I go. The fish cakes were delish packed with flavor. I loved they way the restaurant felt, walking by the kitchen it smelt so fantastic I could taste the food before it arrived to the table. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The cocktails were on point. So fresh and complimented the dishes really well. To finish I really recommend the peanut butter banana pie. I actually ordered one to take away as well and enjoyed it for breakfast the next day. This is a great spot to go and get your fill of all the wonders Thai food offers.
