Excited by the positive reviews, but we were pretty let down with food qualify (we didn't try the coffee, which is supposedly great).
The food was super bland, and when we asked for their most flavorful sauces / dressings, the options were chipotle mayo and hot sauce. We ordered a flavorless farmers dish w/ ingredients missing, and the paired sauce was just soy. The sourdough bread had no sauce, salt, butter, or flavor. The "veggie spring roll" was literally just lettuce wrapped very loosely in rice paper with a flavorless aoli.
When we arrived at the restaurant, the waiter standing outside to welcome people instead rushed back inside to avoid us. Later, her and another waiter were having an obvious little lovers' quarrel right next to our table (assuming we didn't speak Spanish).
Sayulita is a known health food / vegan type area and this food definitely caters to that - basic, healthy, limited cooking oil or salt, with lots of vegan type options. If that's what you're aiming for, though, there are better health-conscious eateries...

In fact, this will be my only review for Sayulita because they are absolutely the best. There are just too many options for food/coffee and you really can't go wrong walking around town but this place brought us back everyday.
Strong/aromatic coffee selection, amazing pastries, chido chias are the go tos for healthy snacks, brunch and lunch always on point...in fact, their grilled cheese and tomato soup saved my poor hung over soul one day...BEST SOURDOUGH BREAD I've had in a long long time. And the portion was insane. ( Wish I have a picture but it was that delicious and there was no time or self control😅 )
The wifi is great here hence the reviews regarding the fact that it's always packed. No reason to take a star away just because they offer great WiFi and people are being inconsiderate. We were happy getting food and drinks to go when there's no place to sit with the beach...
Read moreOn the internet it says the place opens at 8.00 but we tried to go in several times between 8.00 and 9.00 and we were always told that it was not open yet. Actually we were not treated very politely. One day we went there at 8.20 and we were told that the cooks did not arrive until 8.30 but they would anyway not be ready until 9.00. Today we tried again to go at 8.00 and the waitress asked us - not very politely - whether we could wait 10 minutes. In my opinion, if a place opens at 8.00, it means that the personnel should be ready to receive and serve the guests at that time (hopefully with a smile…). Other than that, if you go in much later - after 9.30 or so - food and coffee are very good.
A suggestion to the owner: just change your opening time to whenever your personnel is ready or...
