Café de Bucerías — Restaurant in Nayarit

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We were seated quickly, and ordered right away, but I think the server forgot about our coffee as we waited for at least 20 minutes and had to ask for it again. Then we waited over an hour for our food to come. Our server was friendly and kind, but we spent so much time waiting that it was not a good time. When we finished eating, we had to ask for the bill, and then they gave us the wrong bill. Then we paid and waited 10 more minutes to get our change, and had to go to the front to ask for it. In total, we spent about 1.5 hours at the restaurant and most of it was spent waiting or trying to get the servers attention. Additionally, the restaurant is very loud with the music and people talking. We were also seated beside the door, so while there is air conditioning, every time the door was opened, we got a gust of hot air hitting us. Exterior is beautiful. A very nice building. Walking in you get a Mexican feel. Mexican themed and charming. A second Floor for seating is available. I like it up there. The whole place is quiet and clean.

Food here is great. It is very close to my airbnb so I can come for breakfast. The only downside is I wake up around 5am and they don't open until 8am. However, nothing in this area opens until 8am so I can't hold it against them. Have to go to the supermercado to get some coffee lol. Anyway, the service has been outstanding and the atmosphere is great. This is not a traditional Mexican restaurant but is definitely Mexican themed. Give it a try. You won't regret it.

Edit: had a chance to stop in for dinner. Had the chicken tacos and had them bring hot sauce on the side. The hot sauce isn't all that hot but I like it really spicy so my taste buds are used to burning. The service continues to be amazing. Friendly and attentive staff. We have safe eaters in our party which means that adventurous eating is not their thing. We found this cafe after I was heading to the local sidewalk restaurants. This was such a relief to those in our party that were uber worried about getting a stomach bug.

The drinks were magnificent. They were really refreshing as we got the red and mango/Strawberry smoothies.

The show stopper- the nachos. The presentation was like a donut of happiness with guacamole in center. They had gobs of flank steak that melted in our mouths, melted cheese and then random surprises everywhere (refried beans and vegetables). It was the best nachos I’ve ever tasted.

The shrimp tacos were good. I had read the fish tacos were better- that would be my choice next time.

The other burrito and the tacos were really savory and high quality.
