Mr. Cream Pancakes and Waffles, Nvo.Vallarta — Restaurant in Nayarit

You would expect in the name the restaurant would have pancakes and waffles. Strangely enough after waiting for 15 minutes to be sat, the waiter was quick to say they ran out of pancake mix so no pancakes or waffles. You would think maybe late morning or early afternoon I could see this possibly happening, but the time was 9am on a Saturday. With two kids, they were not happy. I told the waiter it would be prudent to advise all those waiting outside to be sat regarding the lack of pancakes. The waiter looked right at me and said, "We have other things than pancakes and waffles." I looked at my wife and I said, I cannot believe he said that. So I politely excused myself from the table, walked toward the hostess stand and said loud enough for everyone to hear me how Mr. Cream was put of pancake mix which means no waffles and pancakes. I would say half those waiting left. I sat back down and ordered my breakfast burrito. Nevertheless the waiter was clearly angry with me, it was the right thing to do. Will not come back. Can be very busy in the morning, but we were seated right away after arriving at about 11;30. There is a large covered outdoor area, but we sat in the pleasant and sunny indoor dining room. Service was friendly and efficient. Although there was a fairly long wait for the food to come out everything came out steaming hot and fresh. It was worth the wait! Two of us had the excellent french toast... the Tuscany which comes with marscapone and loads of fresh fruit, and a version that came with fried eggs and breakfast sausage. Another one of us ordered the waffles with strawberries with whipped cream. In every case be prepared for huge servings! Two of us went for lunch options, and the big surprise was how good those were. My wife ordered the green enchiladas with chicken and declared them the best Mexican food so far on this trip. Another of us ordered the beef enchilada which was equally good. Coffee was excellent and juices were fresh and tasty. I gave this restaurant 4 stars last year so I was anxious to return this year. After waiting 30 minutes for a table they were in no hurry to serve us which is odd because there were still people waiting for a table. The people around us finished their meals and new people were seated. We were surprised when they got their meals before us. There was several waiters standing around and yet other waiters were clearing tables and leaving the dishes with food on them on a platform near our table that became a free meal for all the birds waiting outside the restaurant. The birds would fly right over our heads to get the food that was left there and none of the waiters standing around would clear the plates from the platform.
