The negative reviews that are listed for this property are all superficial things that do not impact your stay whatsoever, especially the nonsense about the construction on a neighboring property (you barely hear it, if at all, and the hotel is well-insulated). I travel for work and stay at many, many hotels each year, and when I tell you for the amount I paid to stay here (it was relatively inexpensive), I received five-star quality service in all aspects of my stay. The room was gorgeous (Deluxe King Room with Panoramic View) and modern, the rooftop pool was beautiful with a romantic view, and the entire staff of this lovely property were always ready to assist with a smile and warm energy. I was unfortunately traveling for a family emergency, and several of the employees took remarkable care of me when they learned the nature of my very first visit to Puerto Vallarta. I cannot thank them enough- there are not enough words to describe how well this staff treated me and made my stay unpredictably welcoming even through my unprecedented circumstance. The only deficit to this hotel is that it is along a strip of resorts, so there is not much to do if you want a taste of the PVR culture in terms of anything nearby, but again, I wasn’t in town for a vacation, and Ubers make it easy to get around and the fares are also rather inexpensive. I dined in the rooftop bar and grill both nights and had to order the ceviche both times because it was superb! The freshest avocado on top of a medley of cucumber slices and tostadas to help me polish off every morsel I could sweep. It was perfection. I’ll be thinking about it for a few days. The cocktails they serve are made very well, too. You honestly never need to leave the property to have a beautiful, romantic and luxurious experience. The best part is that it’s adults only, so the quiet peace makes it that much more enjoyable. I will always recommend this property, and I hope to visit next time with more days and under better circumstances.
Read moreThe main issue with this hotel is that it’s located next to a construction site where 2 buildings are going up. The noise is non stop from 7am until past sundown (every day except Sunday and with a 1 hour break at lunchtime), including constant beeping of trucks backing up. It was loud both in our room and by the pool and didn’t allow for a relaxing stay at all. The hotel should inform guests about this when they’re booking. Other issues include the pool and common restrooms not being clean, loud talking by the cleaning staff in the halls all morning, and drunk people banging on doors and making noise in the hallway late at night (I know this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but it detracted from our stay).
It’s a shame bc otherwise this is a nice hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean. The rooftop pool area is great (heated pool, plenty of cabanas and chairs, etc.). The breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff by the pool area took very good care of us (special shout out to Francisco, who is the best). It’s in a good location - away from the crowds of Puerto Vallarta, but still with plenty of good options for food, groceries/essentials, and access to the beach within...
Read moreDespite the rooms lacking good soundproofing to the hallway, they were very comfortable. Unfortunately our room looked directly at an active construction site, but wasn't too loud. I would try to request an ocean view next time.
Felt like a very safe location to walk around, and the streets were very clean. There are some restaurants very close to the hotel, but it's easy enough to grab an uber/cab, or goingout for a nice walk. The beach is only about 15 min walk away and it's BEAUTIFUL! If you don't feel like going to the beach, there are 5 different pools on the rooftop garden with a restaurant and bar, and a gorgeous view of the ocean.
All the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. Special shout out to Andres, Angel and Hugo on the rooftop with whom it was always a pleasure speaking with, and Karla at the front desk for her help and recommendations.
I don't think you could find a better location for the price per night, and the peace of no children running around was an excellent addition to the level of relaxation. I will definitely be recommending Mío Riviera Nayarit to friends and family, and we can't wait to come...
