La Dolce Vita Nuevo Vallarta — Restaurant in Nayarit

Too busy. Service was poor as a result. Food was good but nothing that you can't find elsewhere.

Response to Response from Owner Sure - it was like our waiter forgot about us. As an example we ordered desserts and coffees. The coffees came and the desserts never showed up. Everyone had finished their coffees and no sign of the desserts. We finally tracked down a waiter and eventually the desserts showed up but everyone was done by then and one likes to have coffee with dessert.

Trying to pay was the worst part. We asked three times for our bill and then figured that if we started moving towards the door it would speed things up. No such luck - we could have walked out and no one would have noticed. After waiting at the door, talking to waiters going by, the bartender and the woman at reception we finally had someone show up with our bill. No apologies, no adjustment to the bill, or explanation of any sort. Disappointing.

I understand every restaurant has a bad night and things go awry. Our experience bordered on ridiculous however. We were disappointed as we had brought friends and were looking forward to experiencing...

Honestly, I looked through the reviews, menu before visiting this restaurant, and was very excitied to dine there. Unfortunately, the actual experience was far from the expectations. While the atmosphere, especially outside, was fantastic, the service was ok, however, the food was not even close to what we were expecting from an Italian Restaurant. Started with “Focaccia Nread”, which was a pizza pie with some Rosemary on it! The Margharita pizza was a flatbread with some whatever cheese on it, possibly worse than the one in a resort we had, where they were making hundreds of them. My garlic shrimp was dry, no flavour, and oily. My wife had the plain grilled chicken breast, which was true to the menu… plain, no flavour at all, and overcoocked to the level when it was hard to chew. This evening might’ve been one off, when the Chef was on their day off, and someone else had to take care of cooking, however, I would not risk another ruined evening due to poor food quality. It was our wedding...

THE LAST TIME AT THIS HORRIBLE PLACE.

I wish there was a ZERO or below zero STAR rating.

I do not understand the great reviews: I have lived in this area full-time for 8 years and have eaten at La Dolce Vita more than once. Each time, it was a terrible experience.

The food is far below average, and the service is horrible. We recently ordered four meals to go, which included the "Luna Pizza"

When we picked up the order, the pizza box felt strange, so we looked inside before leaving the premises. The pizza was a horrible mess: it was folded in half with all the cheese oozing out into the box ... YUK.

When we showed it to the staff, he said - as though we were stupid - “it is a Calzone” - but we said we ordered the Luna Pizza and there is no "Luna Calzone" on the menu.

Instead of correcting the mistake by making us the pizza we ordered, he walked off never to return.

It is a pity that this poor-quality restaurant stays in business, but sadly in Nuevo Vallarta there are not...
