Tacos and Beers seems to be very popular with foodies, families and everyone in between. First, as visitors staying close to the beach we have experienced tourist traps with ok food for high prices. Tacos and Beers is very far from that.
We were greeted quickly and warmly by the front of house person and seated quickly. We arrived at 7:30, one of 3 tables there. Service was attentive and made us feel like we were welcome, valued and going to have an experience. Half an hour later not single table in the outdoor seating area was empty, with everyone enjoying the atmosphere and amazing dishes.
We started with the popcorn shrimp which was different from anything a chain restaurant would ever offer. Not at all greasy, flavourfully spiced and with a great dipping sauce.
I asked whether my wife should have the arrachera asada vs the arrachera fajitas and was given an opinion that was clear and 100% correct. Have the arrachera asada - it was very good, my wife tells me. I noticed quite a few tables ordering the same dish.
I went for the tacos. All of which were distinct in their own way and delicious. I definitely needed some upscale tacos after some middle of the road tacos. Paired with balanced cocktails, this meal was the best in Bucerius to date.
Flawless service, great food, and outdoor ambience makes this almost perfect. You can pay almost double in Bucerius for a beachside experience - which I need to be sure - but Tacos and Beers feels like...
Read moreSo much more than Tacos and Beers! From the moment you enter, you feel the casual but elegant ambiance (especially in the back garden area) and are welcomed by the awesome staff. The menu has a lot of great choices. We had the guacamole, Surf n Turf Kebobs, Conchinita Pibil Burrito, Shrimp Burger, Chicken Tortilla Soup and Arrachera Tacos. EVERYTHING was so delicious and perfectly prepared. Loved the fries/onion rings/cole slaw on the side (with burgers and burritos). Most other entrees served with nice salad and rice. Margaritas we're spot on. Just the right amount of everything. Thursdays during winter season they have great live music. (Café con Leche was the duo when we were there.) Nice touch, and not too loud. Perfect for dining and having a conversation. Didn't have enough room to try dessert, but they looked good too! Side note: We accidentally lost a wallet in a chair and didn't realize until next a.m. It was found and held safely with everything intact. Speaks volumes about their integrity! Muchas gracias to all the staff for a...
Read moreOMG what a find! Our first time. We went with friends who had been here before.
The name does not do the menu and quality justice. Easily the best food on the East Side and comparable to the best on the west. Much more than just tacos and beer!
Starting with the venue, quiet outdoor seating was hidden from the road and surrounded by a beautiful garden. The seating is new, clean and comfortable. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful.
We started with guacamole with fresh made nachos - delicious. For mains, I had the Shrimp Chile Relleno (a large pobleno pepper stuffed with diced red pepper, shrimp, cheese in a white wine caper cream sauce with a tomato coulis, rice pilaf and mixed greens with olive oil and balsamic dressing). My wife had a lamb burger. My shrimp was an amazing blend of flavors leaving me wanting to return for it again. My wife’s burger was also excellent.
I will be back. If you haven’t tried it, don’t hesitate. You will...
