Tacos de Birria Gera — Restaurant in Nayarit

We had these tacos after staying at the Tapete Airbnb around the corner. The service from the crew is prompt and friendly. The birria tacos are just okay. The cuts of meat are mixed together rather than separate them and just use them as requested by the customer. This results in someone that may not want a chunk of fat or tendon in their taco. If you’re not expecting it, that may ruin your experience. The consomé was small and lacks depth of flavor. However, it’s getting 5 stars for convenience and friendliness of staff. Lots of locals eat here. Prices are consistent with a beach town and a little higher than back home. Either way, it’s a good way to get your day at the beach started.

We stayed in bucerias for 5 nights and this is the most tastiest birria (I would even say my top 1 food in the area) we had. The consommé is savory. You have 3 choices of cripiness: soft, medium or crispy. We loved the medium cook. We loved it so much that we stopped here before ou flight out. I will definitely go back and will recommend the place back home!

The people are friendly, the food is great. Crispy tacos stay crispy, even when you eat them slowly and dip them into the consommé. Salsa is DEADLY spicy so if you’re a heat freak like me this will scratch the itch (and if not, beware!). Agua Fresca is super refreshing.
