What is the Split Coconut? It’s a beachfront bar frequented by a blue collar, raucous crowd of hard drinking (and smoking), 55 and over, Canadian snowbirds/expats. What it isn’t, is a good restaurant. I ordered the pork plate which consisted of razor thin cuts of meat smothered in a horribly made barbecue sauce, some bland baked beans, and a couple of tablespoons of rice. My wife got the chicken plate which was breast meat covered in the same “barbecue” sauce, unseasoned mixed vegetables straight out of a can, and some grocery store French fries, all of which was served to us barely warmed over. Llegué con mucha hambre buscando un pescado para cenar. En primer lugar la atención terrible, nadie entendía mis preguntas, como si no trabajaran ahí. Y en vez de atenderme andaban viendo sus tik toks, y comiendo doritos muy agusto. Pedí mitad filete de pescado y mitad camarones. El filete no era malo, pero estaba súper seco, y los camarones estaban súper ricos.
