Going to El Cafecito today was the worst idea. Once we got at the restaurant, there were two kids between between 15 -16 years working dressed is blue shirts . So we were standing next them while they were talking among themselves. We did not want to interrupt, when they finished, one walk away and the other one stand there and ignored us. We had to get her attention and asked for a table. No energy, no customer service honestly like she did not want to give service to us. She told us to wait for a table to be clean. They cleaned the table but still made us wait. She never came back then the other kid dressed in blue as well , asked us if we had a reservation even though he saw us arrived 15 minutes back. At this point we got irritated. There was like 5 waiters just watching these two “kids” giving bad reputation to this place by giving bad customer experience. Finally we got our table, honestly they didn’t seem interested in our business. We saw they did the same thing to other tourists. So we decided to leave the place and take our money somewhere else.
Please whoever is in charge, watch over these untrained employees and correct them because one day someone can post a video of their experience and in could change the point of view of...
Read moreHad a nice breakfast yesterday (pics below). Went today for dinner and they insisted that we wear a mask until our food was served. I wouldn't have minded except there were two other people sat directly next to me without masks on and various other people littered amongst the (less than half empty) premises without masks on. Additionally, we were located right next to the sidewalk in the open plan part.
When we pointed out that there were several people without masks on they just shrugged and insisted that we wear ours.
At that point we walked out and the waiter just snatched up the menu and walked off as if he had been doing us a favour the whole time. Our money is good anywhere and we refuse to be treated like second class citizens. We ended up eating a cross the road at Flori-Tao.
Food that we had the previous day was plentiful but the orange juice was the worst we had in Mexico City, Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido. They offer free coffee refills which is always a plus point.
For this reason I would give the food a 7/10 but the service was 5/10. There are plenty of places here where you can get comparable or better food and certainly places where you would be treated better.
Would...
Read moreWe been traveling with our two small dogs trough all of Mexico, and I never had this experience.
We came to this restaurant as it was recommended to us, so when we got there I told the hostess that I had my two dogs. She said ok no problem we can sit you at the back, so we waited for the table.
After 15 mins they take us to the table, all the way to the back beside the bathroom, the guy that takes us to our table tells us keep the dogs hidden as some people get upset (I guess he was talking about some of the staff)
The waiter, kept ignoring us, finally after more than 20 mins he comes to our table and complains about our dogs and tell us to put them on the floor underneath the table (we had them in a bag in our laps) OMG, I been traveling around Mexico and this is the first time I had this type of issue, people that work here are so close minded.
I would them rather say they don’t accept dogs and we wouldn’t have waisted 50 mins of our morning.
There are sooo many pet friendly restaurants in Zicatela, where staff are so nice and have good attitude.
I do not recommend this...
