Outstanding Restaurante in Zicatela. While we arrived late I imagine this place must be GORGEOUS at sunset. It is right on the beach built in the sand (as soon as I got there I took my shoes off).
The food in this restaurant is amazing. We started with the Ceviche and Guacamole appetizers. The Ceviche was so good I am thinking about going back again tonight (😉). I wouldn't normally order Guacamole but we had kids with us and it was sublime. Unbelievably good!
I moved on to the Pescado Fresca. It was a nice size piece of fresh Tuna. It was my mistake to ask for it to be cooked medium (I should have asked for rare). Regardless it was an amazingly good dinner. My friend had a steak in not quite a mole but in a very very good sauce. We shared family style and even a 5 year old and a tired 2 year old enjoyed everything!!
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere, the ambience, the salsas, the appetizers, the main dishes were extraordinary!! I LOVE what this Chef is doing with local foods....This Restaurante in top shelf at a...
Read moreI just want to say that if you want to feel welcome and enjoy delicious food, this is where you need to be. Places like Cayuco continue to give me hope that there still exists true passion for food and hospitality. On our trip in Oaxaca we had trouble finding restaurants that treated all guests with respect and offered great food. We spent my husband’s birthday here and came back on our last day for dinner. I immediately noticed the owners were present because they were so welcoming and attentive. We tried their mezcal drinks and all were amazing and refreshing. Their fish tacos, stuffed chicken, and fish tacos did not disappoint. Everything is fresh so enjoy the wait its worth it. This is also the best spot to enjoy some drinks and watch an amazing sunset.

Read moreWonderful little beach restaurant with thoughtful, very tasty food and drinks, + friendly, intentional service. The main restauranteer / owner (?) speaks English. There are so many choices on this beach, I'm glad I picked this one. It's a more thoughtful menu than the average beach bar / restaurant. I had a grilled fish taco with chicharrones-very creative and tasty! Then shrimp which seemed to be in a kind of Cajun or chili marinade with mashed potatoes which were fantastic but hard to describe, and a little side salad with fresh greens, strawberries, nuts and a balsamic vinaigrette drizzle. Sandia / watermelon mezcal...
