Walking along the beach, we decided to come into this restaurant. There was seating with a beach view, comfy couches and various seating arrangements which included tables and seating at the bar.

The family that owns the restaurant was very friendly and very very nice. That servers were very helpful speaking both English and Spanish. He asked what we liked and didn’t like and then recommended some dishes.

We had the ceviche which was absolutely amazing! We also had the guacamole, fish tacos, shrimp tostadas and mezcalitas which was sooooo goooood!

As we were eating, a storm rolled in from nowhere and dumped buckets of rain on us for a few hours. Because of the massive amounts of rain that came down, the restauratuers dug trenches around us to divert the rain “rivers” around our table so we could continue eating uninterrupted. We were so grateful and actually offered to help, but they insisted they would handle the situation and we very hospitable. We stayed through the deluge and enjoyed our delicious food.

We met others in the restaurant and laughed about the rains and the “rivers” while taking shots with each other. Some were locals, some were fellow tourists so we had a good time given our situation. The dog ended up staying near our table since we were dry and since we move animals, we enjoyed their company as well.

As our night was nearing an end, the owners came over to offer us some mezcal, two types, one with the plant the mezcal is made from and one with a scorpion in it. Pechuga and Espadin. They are very different and very delicious.

We had a night of great food, great people and memories to last a lifetime. I highly recommend spending your time here for the same. You will...

The most relaxing no frills great food spot to veg out on the beach in all of Zicatela and I've been to many. You could just be here all day. The waiter knows how to read the room and leaves you alone if you're having I timate moments on their sexy beds. We had just arrived from two flights that included a layover of 7 hours. We got here and were treated to a spread of ceviche and carpacio. Bring your spicy taste buds this isn't like the other places in the area that alter the recipes for yoga hippies. It's for flavor lovers like me. 🔥 Caliente. Yeah we took a nap we needed it. No one hassled us and we noticed during our stay locals lay out...

The food here is good and you can catch a good sunset, but they tried to rip me off three times. I ordered a mezcal that is listed as 100 pesos on their menu that they tried to charge me 130 pesos for. I still was going to leave a 10% tip though and they tried to add 20%. I asked to pay with card and they wanted to add 4% charge which is ok, but not listed on the menu and they didn't state it when I went to pay. I opted to pay with cash and they corrected both other discrepancies. Be careful. *Edit: OK, have one star. Apparently this is something that is commen here. They respond by just calling people liars. Maybe stop...

THE best place to eat delicious seafood! During our stay in Puerto, we came 5 times to La Mariinera, because we did not want to miss anything from the menu after we once tasted the Seafood Tostadas (Camaron al Curry, Volcan, Fish)! But literally everything had this amazing taste, the Ceviches, the Cocteles. The staff was so attentive and nice with a really good service. You have the sea in front of you, eating underneath the palm trees with your feet in the sand. Completely relaxed athmosphere, with hammocks to chill out. Huge recommendation!
