This restaurant is definitely in contention for best spot in Puerto Escondido. It's an amazing space perfectly blending an indoor lounge with the beach. The use of driftwood, beautiful organic-looking tables and sand make for an incredible venue.
The menu is short, simple and beautifully executed. Cocktails and juices are fresh and interesting. The ceviches are on point - perfectly seasoned and sharp with high quality fish and shrimp.
Catch of the day or the octopus on the grill are absolutely delicious with the flavour from the charcoal perfectly imparted into the dish. Portions are generous and complemented with fresh salad and potatoes.
Desserts, coffee and a good mezcal collection round out any meal.
A word of caution that this place is certainly more expensive than restaurants nearby but the quality is worth the premium. Definitely a spot to try if you're up for a top quality...
Read moreI have to give this place credit and negate a lot of the reviews here talking about bad service or waiting times. I just had a beautiful dinner here. The waiters, young guys, were extremely attentative and helpful. They were able to answer any question, explained the dishes very well and even accommodated for my out of the box cocktail wish. The service was very prompt and at the same time very relaxed and not overwhelming. Just as it should be. I am a Chef and a Foodie, so I have eaten at many fancy places. The food is simple but just what you want from a seafood place Simple but good and fresh. On top the atmosphere is very nice. They use dim lights which is a big plus , great wooden design tables, comfortable chairs and the dishes are presented very beautifully. It's probably one of the best places on the northern end of Zicatela and I will surely come back here and recommend...
Read moreScam. My husband and I ordered two ceviches for lunch and the server told us that they were "chicita" (175 pesos each..) and recommended to add a Parilla (420 pesos). We were proper hungry and really wanted to try this place so we went with the recommendation despite the exhorbanant prices for a Tuesday lunch rec. We couldn't even finish the ceviches much less start the Parilla. Ridiculous. We also asked for a vaso de aqua and they tried to upsell us again. Really sucks for the chef. I would've left a proper tip and returned if the service wasn't so shady. Food was good but just go to Chicama...
