I heard of this place quite a while back but never really expected to go until recently. As someone who has loved Korean food since I was young, I expected the same when visiting but coming here I was disappointed. Not only did it deviate from Korean taste but in reality it was far from good taste. The food of course was bland, the kimchi and pickled side dishes were of course awful. The kimchi was practically a soup and the sides were missing the element of salt since they were both really sour and sweet which when you think about it doesn't taste remotely like kimchi. I came here to see that many who think highly of this place have yet to taste actual good korean food, some of them, based on their profile pictures, K-Pop fans who are only interested in saying that they have tried Korean food or those who were curious and left with a wrong sense of what food should actually be like. I don't blame them since the lack of availability in other Korean restaurants. Of course I understand the lack of ingredients needed to prepare some of these dishes is what makes the dish harder to make yet they could have used better substitutes and better way to balance it rather than just going off of what they think is closest. Truly I say that this is by far a very medium place. Not awful but reaching that type of level. The place has a lot of potential but sadly has not reached it. Read moreIf you need your Korean fix this is place! I come from Oakland CA and Korean bbq/Korean food is one of the staples in the Bay Area. This place hit the spot and definitely reminds me of back home! Portions/quality was perfect and prices were very reasonable. The staff was very helpful with the menu and spoke English aswell. On top of that all cakes are made in house and are beautifully prepared. They also sell individual jars of their kimchi aswell. The owner was very sweet and I can tell takes great care of the spot. Check out the imported Korean treats from sodas to cookies filled with flavored cream. I highly recommend to check this place out and have a nice lunch or do take out. I recommend the bibibimbap and bulgogi plate. Also try out their rice drink it’s very similar to horchata! Thanks again Dururu I will definitely return...
Read moreDururu Korean Restaurant & Bakery consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience. Traveling solo as an Asian, I found comfort in their authentic dishes, which truly satiated my longing for homely Asian cuisine. The Ramen and Cheyuk were not only delightful but also a savory reminder of home.
The hospitality extended by the staff and the owner is genuinely warm and kind. On my last visit, the owner went above and beyond by assisting me in hailing a taxi to the airport post my Ramen indulgence. This was undeniably a 10/10 experience!
