A very disappointing experience tonight at Cañabrava… The margaritas were good, the nachos were tasty, the service was absolutely awful. After we ordered one round of drinks and decided to have an appetizer prior to moving on for dinner (we would have ordered another round of drinks, but were unable to), the waiter seemed to intentionally treat us as we did not exist. We waited for nearly an hour and a half and the server did not check on us, speak to us, or even look at us once after receiving our order. This was a Tuesday evening, with less than 5 other tables in the entire restaurant dining, and we waited for far too long, with empty plates and drinks on the table, and requested our check twice and never received it.
I’ve visited Puerto Escondido 3 times in the past 3 years, have been to this restaurant multiple times during those visits, and would have been happy to give this establishment more of my business and money - but now, we will never be returning here again after experiencing such rude and...
Read moreOverpriced, loud music, not consistent.
Went there 2 times over our stay and had a positive experience on the first night- food presentation was beautiful- all the tables around us also was outstanding looking. Second night- food quality poor: music was terrible , loud then salad arrived same time as main course.
Terrible presentation- Cesar was tasteless- croutons seemed to have come from a box so stale. Dressing no flavour.
Coconut shrimp could taste the flour coating- overcooked brown broccoli- weird tasting rice in the middle. No flavour to veggies.
Husbands poke bowl was tasty but not at beautifully presented as the first visit.
Paid way too much for the poor quality of food.
While the location and view at sunset is outstanding- I would recommend that you choose somewhere else for a quality meal. Restaurant/bars beside seem to compete for the loudest music and base... so if you love 3 types of music playing at the same time- it's a great...
Read moreWhere to start? So the place is really cool right on the beach. BUT we waited about 30min for our drinks, then another 30min for some nachos for the table and then about 20min for the food. Really slow. We ordered 3 dishes: fish tacos, fish skewer and seafood risotto. The first two tasted good, but the risotto was undercooked. We told the waiter and he said ‘this is how risotto is made’ - no it’s not (coming from someone who is Italian). We sent back the risotto without eating anything but a couple of forkfuls of rice. We had to discuss with the waiter that we did not expect to pay - they eventually relented. FINALLY, we got food poisoning that night, both my partner and I. Not a place I...
