Garnachas Istmeñas Sicarú — Restaurant in Oaxaca

Best tlayudas I've had, with high quality ingredients. The meat is delicious as well as the cheese and the tlayudas have lots of both meat and cheese inside; it's not like these places where they add a lot of dry cabbage and old tasteless beans and very poor portions of meat. Here everything is fresh and the meat is just amazing. I also love garnachas and empanadas... soo much flavour. Molotes as dessert are a must, accompanied of course by a cup of coffee. I like the fact that both fruit fresh water and coffee taste very good without being saturated with sugar; sugar is always available but drinks taste very well without it. Salsas are also great. Julio and Diego are super nice people. It's a good idea to get there early though, the place is small and at some point of the evening it is too crowded, but if one needs to wait it's definitely worth it.

Me encanta todo lo que hay de cenar en este lugar. Son mis tlayudas favoritas; éstas SÍ tienen un chingo de carne (que ya de por sí sola está riquísima) y bastante quesillo, y la col y los frijoles sólo para darles sabor. Las empanadas y las garnachas istmeñas son un manjar y siempre hay como 4 salsas diferentes para escoger. También siempre hay agua de jamaica fresca con refill, y tanto el agua como el café saben muy bien sin tener que estar saturados de azúcar (igual uno puede pedir azúcar o esplenda). Los molotes de plátano para rematar con un café son de cajón. El lugar se llena mucho (naturalmente), por lo que yo prefiero llegar temprano para comer con calma y alcanzar de todo. También se puede pedir para llevar, pero Julio y Diego son muy buena onda y el lugar muy agradable, así que es difícil no estar cenando ahí varias veces...

By far the best food we’ve had in Oaxaca so far. Had the Garnachas & Molotes de Plátano, and then ordered a second serving of Molotes de Plátano cause they were so good! Total for everything was only $270 between 2 and we were stuffed (visited June 25). Friendly staff and ambient setting. No alcoholic...

Un lugar super escondido, pero cuando uno lo encuentra, es un tesorito. El chef a cargo es de uno de los mejores lugares con la mejor gastronomía en Oaxaca: El Istmo. Por ello tiene una sazón increíble con suficientes porciones de todo. Probé el puré de papa versión Istmo y los molotes de plátano macho son una delicia. ¿Lo mejor? Sus precios muy accesibles, lugar petfriendly y bastante acogedor.

Resulta que las garnachas y las tlayudas de costilla enchilada: son un manjar.

El pequeño detalle es que no hay servicio de sanitario. 😅
