Maré — Restaurant in Oaxaca

Le patron est un fou furieux. Il est sorti sur le trottoir pour jeter à terre et battre à coups de pieds un vieil ivrogne qui venait de quêter à sa terrasse. Quand je me suis levée il m'a bloqué le passage et intimidée. Je suis restée pour éviter un scandale mais je regrette d'avoir encouragé le commerce de cet homme abusif et j'encourage quiconque sensible à la justice à manger ailleurs. Huatulco regorge de bons restos au service poli et aimable.

The owner served us our plate on the terrasse of his restaurant and went out on the sidewalk to chase a drunk old man that was asking for money. As the old man was leaving the owner kicked him in the back and kept kicking him when the poor man was on the floor. I was shocked and stood up to get out but he came back and stood on my way, i was intimated and sat down as he was agressively trying to convince us that he was in his right to beat the man. I told him i thought he was very wrong, no matter why he did that, but we were too intimidated by his attitude to leave the place, thinking it might turn into a scandal. We ended up eating while he was attending new arrivants and unnattending us with attitude. Now back to the hotel sad and with a messy stomach. If you have any social conscience don't do like i did, don't leave your money there. Huatulco if full of good restaurants with nice, fun and respectfull people...

Amazingly great Italian Restaurant

My husband and I dined at Mare a few days ago and everything was wonderful. From the warm greetings from the owners, to the food. I can't say enough about the food. We had the lemon fish and the seafood spaghetti. Both were outstanding. The couple that own the restaurant, are also the staff, and they made my husband and I feel like we were a guest in their home. We love Mare and have loved it for years. It is one of my absolute favourites out of a lot of really good restaurants here in Huatulco. Mare is casual and unpretentious but the quality is great. We love the amazing food - it is varied and delicious. I like the wine list and the fact that the owner asks if you prefer your red wine chilled or room temperature.
