One of the food places ripped off my friends and didn’t tell them the size of the plates so they double ordered food. When I went to order a torta from a different place in the market than my friends, the man said I could not order from them and sit down with my friends since they were different places. The people were very rude and did not try to help us out. They could tell that we were tourists and just tried to take advantage to us and not help us out. Read moreThis is a wonderful little mercado, less than a mile east of the Zócalo. Many vendors of meat and produce, and a large dining area for prepared food. Not as big as Mercado Sánchez Pascuas, but it’s also a little less busy and it’s friendlier. There’s also a nice little cheese shop with items that you won’t find at a tienda. There also are more vendors across Morelos and a very good seafood shop right down the street from the southeast entrance.
