Tlayudas Doña Luchita — Restaurant in Oaxaca

The tlayuda here is fantastic. Come.

I came here at 4:30 pm for an early dinner. The place is easy to find and there’s lots of seating areas, which were being constantly cleaned by the staff! I ordered from a helpful menu (forgot to take a pic oops) and saw meat options I didn’t immediately recognize the words for, but a quick google search told me many of them were Oaxaca specialties! I picked tasajo (thin cut of beef cured in salt) and it comes folded with some veggies and cheese inside that made the texture incredible - hot and juicy but crispy on the outside. They also serve some pickled onions and peppers (these are v spicy) and two salsas which were all incredible. + the baked plantains were a fun treat!!

The staff here were soooo nice- letting them meet their dogs and telling me about Oaxaca specialities.

Tried one of the tlayudas - sencillo - a simple one without meat as I didn't like anything they offer. It's a rather simple and not very healthy snack - the amount of charing will provide one with enough acrylamide for a month. Vegetarians should bear in mind that even the simple tlayuda comes with lard (asiento) so ask for one without it. The service was good if...

Es un lugar donde el sazón es común nada especial y menos que valga el precio, la persona que está en la parrilla tiene tan fuerte el carbón que literalmente chamusca cada carne que cae en sus manos, no sabe tener una braza que cocine sin quemar, cecina, arrachera, chorizo todo duro y tostado.

Las tlayudas de buen tamaño pero no hay sabor a nada literalmente, las salsas son otra cosa son sabor en verdad x, eso es lo que da lo necesario para salvar una mala comida.

De la atención ni hablemos lentos en todos los sentidos, olvidan las órdenes, no sabes que lleva cada platillo, les pides unos cubiertos 10 min, bueno un total desastre, ah eso sí los precios son de un restaurante y no menos, las porciones de carne son caras para su tamaño y las porciones de tortilla dura son normales pero solo la tortilla lo demás muy pobre, en general me quedo con una pésima experiencia no la recomiendo y...
