This place comes off as fast food but it's flavors are anything but!!! My husband and I went on a little mission to find a cevichería in the Reforma neighborhood. On the way to the cevichería we smelled the most amazing smell and made a mental note that it was coming from a place called Mixtacos. After we concluded that the cevichería was closed we decided to trek back to the taco spot. This place is happening! In the hour we were there the phone and pick up orders did not stop. The staff here is efficient and although service was slow they truly were going as fast as they could. They have limited seating in restaurant but we only waited 15 min or so to be seated. Ok let's get to the food. The menu was simple tacos, tortas, tlayudas, and soups. They did have some vegetarian options as well. My husband and I did have to as what some of the items on the menu meant like the Gringo tacos Al pastor (flour tortilla instead of corn) or the Mixtacos torta (their special torta) but otherwise it was self explanatory. We ordered some tacos Al pastor and added cheese, a pozole that we split, I got a torta Mixtacos, and my husband also got some lengua tacos. The Al pastor tacos were the star for sure. Perfectly tender pork with pineapple shavings and cilantro and onion. The table came with home made salsas and limes. The guac salsa was sooo good. I put it on everything! The pozole was simple but citrusy and hearty. It had hominy and we asked for a combo of chicken and pork. You could get either or or mix. The only bummer was my husband got more chunks of meat than I did haha. Then came the torta possibly one of the best tortas I've had. It came with beans spread, fresh cheese, Al pastor meat, avacado, tomato, and something that surprised me and was so delicious, mustard. It really made each bite. I got some avena agua to refresh. It was perfect, not too sweet. My husband's lengua tacos were not his favorite but he usually gets his lengua in cubes and he says it's tender that way. This lengua was more shaved and grilled so he didn't enjoy it as much. We would absolutely recommend this place and would come back next...
Read moreI will change my review. Way too overpriced. 31 pesos a small single steak taco which was too salty. In my neighborhood each steak taco costs 17 mxn, the taste is better and less salty. The music was too loud. The waiter young dude was wearing headphones and I had to stand up twice to ask him for stuff. I'll never go back. Too overrated. The combo that costed 129 was too salty as well. I regret my desition. The other service ladies are nice people but the negatives outweigh...
