Service - 0. The man coaxed us in from the beach by telling us the cocktail prices and that it was happy hour so 2 for 150 pesos. We ordered two drinks off the women serving , then about 30 mins later ordered 2 more, when she brought over the second round said they’re both for 150. We said yes great as we believed the first drinks were also this price. When we asked for the bill the first two were charged at full price and only the second round at happy hour price. We tried to explain to the woman that we were told the drinks were 2 for 150 when we sat down, she just brought my friend up to their sign about 20 meters up the beach which says happy hour only starts at 5. We tried to explain again that the other man told us differently, all of a sudden this man and the other staff didn’t speak English anymore and they all argued that we had to pay that. They then came out with a new bill that had even more added on top as an automatic tip. We payed the full price for the cocktails but said we weren’t paying the tip, the lady then started to curse me in Spanish and being intimidating in my face. This is probably a regular scam carried out here, cocktails were under average anyways so don’t recommend, there are much nicer bars...
Read moreSCAM. Beware of hidden 'costs'. Our check according to the menu should have been $540 for drinks and food but we had to pay 900 pesos in total for 'staff costs' and the beds. So the minimum consumption explained below of $300 per person (totally understandable!) apparently didn't apply to us, as we didn't have to pay $600 but $900 for a 2 hour end of day stay. It was explained to us that we had to pay an EXTRA fee of 100 per person per bed (at the end of the afternoon) and $140 extra for staff costs. The 'extra' costs were not communicated before hand and were also not communicated in the menu, and when we asked about this the menu was instantly removed from our table so that we couldn't verify the costs communicated in the menu. Moreover, we have not had to pay extra service costs anywhere in Mexico before so this is NOT the norm, as is the case in some countries like the USA. Furthermore, we arrived at about 16:00 and consumed well in a short time frame but apparently tourists can be charged whatever they like. We felt badly ripped off and do not recommend this place at all and we left with a...
Read moreWhere do I even begin? Please do yourself a favor and do not go to this spot. The service is terrible, and there are so many hidden charges.
When I asked for the bill, I was given a total of 1,200 pesos, but based on the menu prices, my total should’ve been around 640 pesos. When I questioned the server, he insisted it was 1,200, then suddenly said he “had the wrong bill.” Understandable mistake — but when he brought the correct one, it was 930 pesos.
Even then, the math didn’t add up. He had added random “extra charges” on everything. For example, a Michelada listed at 100 pesos was charged higher, and even the regular beers (40–60 pesos on the menu) had additional costs. When I tried to ask for clarification, he wouldn’t let me speak. I finally agreed to pay the 940 pesos just to get it over with.
When he brought my change, it was only about 60 pesos, which made no sense. I’m usually a generous tipper, but after all that, I declined to leave a tip. That’s when he cursed at us in Spanish and called us “malditos.”
