Santo Sabor Restaurante — Restaurant in Oaxaca

We were delightfully surprised by the delicious lunch we had. Although the menu del día was attractive, we ordered a dish of shrimp with fettuccine al pesto and another of filete de pescado al pastor. Both were preceded by a light consomé with tiny dice of undercooked vegetables. My limonada was fantastic.

We were also given a small dessert of a crepe in a light coffee sauce. Salads served at a neighboring table looked great.

The very friendly waiter/proprietor(?) is in the habit of addressing the patrons as "Chico". It was annoying at first but we then relaxed and got used to it. The café Americano was dreadful. We don't think Santo Sabor has an alcoholic beverage license.

Nothing fancy, just a set meal for $100 pesos. Includes 3 choices of starters (soup, salad or other), choice of about 4 mains (one vegetarian), unlimited fruit water, bread and a bite or two of dessert. The variety is great. Mains usually include something with beef, pork and chicken (plus the veg). I highly recommend the ensalada mixta-- a fresh healthy delight. There's also a breakfast buffet, but I've never tried it. Love this place. They always have decent comida corridas at a reasonable price that are thoughtfully prepared. They always have a selection of preset meals which come with sopa, main course. Drink and dessert. For a little more you can have specialty main course like fish. I had the tilapia al mojo de ajo which was delicious-4/4 star quality....
