A nice surprise! The entry is free and all the other museums in Oaxaca (except the textile museum) are closed for the pandemic, but I had the place to myself! Stamps from around the world, postmarks and even "franks" from before the time of stamps. The Frida Kahlo collection of letters and even a telegram to her doctor was great. There were several collections exposing the interesting connection and history with Lebanon. The special display of stamps, postmarks and misc. representing the coffee producing countries was well done. Collections related to time periods, countries, events, topics, people-- you name it--- there is something of interest for everyone! Even the gift shop had a lot of interesting things. An excellent museum with creative art and displays-- not to mention the interesting architecture, garden spaces, etc.. Even the signs for bathrooms and emergencies were made to look...

Some were carefully arranged in glass cases, while others were transformed into large-scale art installations and sculptures, giving the whole space a fresh, artistic vibe. Just when I thought I’d seen everything, the exhibits kept going, revealing even more hidden gems around every corner. It’s one of those places that makes you realize how something as small as a postage stamp can reflect history, culture, and creativity in such a powerful way. Definitely...
