Taqueria Uno y Más — Restaurant in Oaxaca

We stayed in Puerto Escondido for over one week and tried many places for tacos, gringas and tlayudas (in centro, zicatela beach and la punta) but this one is the best by a BIG margin. Both regarding pricing and taste. The service can take a bit depending on how crowded the place is but nothing too bad as some other reviewer made it out to be - the longest wait was like 30 minutes when it was super crowded to order and the shortest like 3 minutes tops. We ended up visiting Uno y Mas like 6 times bc we loved it there. Don’t expect a fancy restaurant experience, this is an authentic mexican place right next to the main road with green plastic chairs where many locals will also gather in the evening, sit, talk, have a few beers and such but that’s the vibe we also loved about it. Everything we ordered tasted great, there’s raw onions with cilantro, pickled very spicy onions and sauces to add to your food. The pastor is the go-to meat and we didn’t find any other place who did it as tasty as Uno y mas. If you are anywhere in Puerto Escondido, take a colectivo and drop off at Mercado de Zicatela and get some food here. Can’t...

I have been a few tines and I do love the tacos, this is the only reason they are not getting 1 star.

They forced me to get more expensive tacos last time I was there, claiming g they could only do tacos con queso(with cheese) . This is a load of bull dhit and it ended up costing me double because of it.

Fui a este lugar con altas expectativas, pero la atención fue muy tardada y deficiente. El mesero, Carlos, parecía disperso y no hizo un buen trabajo. Le pedí algo y dio mil vueltas antes de traérmelo. Las mesas estaban sucias y la atención en general fue muy lenta.

En cuanto a la comida, el pastor no fue lo que esperaba. Tenía un color naranja quemado y naranja fosforescente, y el sabor era inexistente. Además, era muy grasoso. Considerando el precio, esperaba una calidad mucho mejor. Las porciones tampoco fueron acordes con el precio.

La atención de todos los empleados fue horrible. No creo que regrese a este lugar. Me sorprende ver calificaciones positivas en línea, ya que mi experiencia fue muy decepcionante. No entiendo cómo pueden tener tantos comentarios positivos si la comida y la atención no son buenas.
