So, I've been here 2x in the last 4 mos and unfortunately had the same, poor service experience both times. And the very bad service experience really drags down, particularly the places ambiance, and hence my overall review score. Several staff members are nice enough once you find one and can reel them in to your table. However, while we and others seem to hopelessly wait for service, the staff surf their phones, chat with other staff or gawk at tourists wandering around the zocalo. What happened to the fundamental idea of staff purposefully being "available" to come by a table if a client gestures for service? Or staff that checks in with patrons when they see that patrons are no longer reviewing their menus? (hmmm, maybe the patron is ready to order?). Or staff that checks in with patrons when they see empty plates and/or empty glasses ? (hmmm, maybe another drink or food plate is in the making?). The ambiance of this place (and they had really solid live entertainment the other night) has so much to deliver, and the staff just sucks the life out of it. Fundamentally, there is a pattern of this cafe routinely throwing away opportunities to make money. We certainly would have ordered more food and more drinks if someone was simply service oriented enough to pick up on the aforementioned signals noted about. Hope things change. I think this could certainly be a fun place to hang...
Read moreMediocre spot, definitely catering to tourists. Waitstaff is not very attentive or friendly, food is below average for Cholula.
Sopa Mexicana: Comes with a side plate of accouterments, tastes like knorr cubes. It's fine. Not great.
Chicken salad: The dressing is pre-made low quality. The chicken is repurpsoed milanese chicken breasts. Nothing is grilled.
Molcajete: This is soup, not a molcajete. Spicy which was nice, but also tastes like stock cubes. The nopal is partially cut but it's touch to eat with a spoon (no fork). Tortillas are from a factory. Chicken is repurpsoed milanese. The Spanish chorizo is decent but only one small piece.
These are low effort dishes for tourists that don't know better. The atmosphere is OK for the Zocalo, but this is...

Culpando a otra trabajadora por haberlo encendido. De manera muy despota. La comida no fue mala repito, pero desafortunadamente esto nos dejo muy mal...
