Milli Restaurant, Corn Kitchen — Restaurant in Puebla

Milli serves truly original cuisine: traditional food from the owners' village Ozolco, updated with restaurant cooking expertise. There's none of the sense that you've eaten these dishes dozens of times before (well, unless you live in Cholula and visit Milli weekly)... There are interesting moles, fresh salads, trout for main courses. The desserts and drinks are delicious (including their own maize beer, I recommend the dark one!). And as an extra bonus, it's a determined effort by migrant returnees to both run a good business at home and support the traditional crops and cuisine from their village. This is a hidden gem on cholula. The food was absolutely amazing and not expensive. It is a corn based restaurant. We had sopa de tortilla, a salad called ozosco, and the papamole....a red mole soup with potatoes. They also brought us some complimentary sopes. We drank agua de maiz azul. Everything was really amazing and the service was excellent. I have been driving around mex for 2 months and this was a top 5 restaurant. The strange thing is we only went in there because it was dumping rain and we were stuck. Un lugar muy tranquilo para ir a desayunar o comer. La comida es tradicional de San Mateo Ozolco y a base de maiz. Fuimos en familia, eramos 10 personas. El lugar está muy bien ambientado, es amplio y la atención es muy buena. La preparación tarda un poquito pero te ofrecen de cortesía un sopecito mientras tanto pero una vez que empiezan a salir los platillos, sirven a todos los comensales casi al mismo tiempo y así nadie se quedó esperando más tiempo. Los niños pidieron carne asada, los adultos pedimos platillos como Tlazoyontli, que era un conjunto de antojitos, algunos pedimos la ensalada de cítricos, Quilcaxtil y Mich Molli, todo era delicioso, nunca me habían gustado tanto los platillos con quelites, estaba riquísimo, los antojitos de maíz super ricos, la ensalada de cítricos estaba super fresca y hago mención especial al Mich Molli ya que fue el platillo que a mi familiar, le hizo recordar su infancia, si, como de película, que bonito debe ser que un platillo te recuerde a alguien especial.

De bebidas tomamos, agua de maíz, tepache y algunos tomaron refresco. De postre tienen helado de maíz azul y panqué de calabaza con helado de maíz carbón, ambos a mi gusto muy sabrosos aunque, si no estas habituado a los helados de maíz pudieran no agradarte tanto.

En general nos encantó la comida. Aceptan pago con tarjeta. Tienen estacionamiento en el lugar.

El único punto que a lo mejor pudiera no favorecerles mucho, es que están en planta alta, por lo que si te cuesta o no puedes subir escaleras será un problema.

Creo que es un lugar que vale la pena conocer y disfrutar. Si...
