Restauro — Restaurant in Puebla

I will preface this by stating the restaurant was not crowded in any way.

The food is OK.

Lots of salt and we had to send our Tartar de Atuns back just so we could have tuna that we could taste rather than only salt.

The soups our group ordered were barely warm as were the pastas and chicken dishes and many in our group had to send them back to be heated up.

Service was very slow at first as the wait staff told us only one of the waiters was allowed to take our orders.

The setting and location are beautiful but, for far less money, I could have eaten much better food and had better service at a small, family...

Visitamos Restauro como restaurante no como hotel. Fuimos a este lugar un domingo a las 4pm aproximadamente. La ubicación está justo en el Corazón del centro histórico de Puebla, frente al famoso Callejón de los Sapos. Encontramos estacionamiento en la calle una cuadra antes y llegamos caminando. Pensamos que quizá el restaurante estaría llenísimo al ser fin de semana ya que está en una ubicación clave, pero no fue así. Nos sentamos en la terraza y tuvimos una experiencia muy muy agradable. El servicio fue rápido y ágil. Ordenamos bebidas las cuales estaban muy ricas (aunque la mezcalita podría haber tenido un poco más de mezcal, se perdía entre el sabor fuerte de la jamaica). Pedimos de entrada tacos de pato los cuales estaban riquísimos. Venían tres y bastante bien servidos. También pedimos un queso asado con chicharrón que estaba riquísimo. Este platillo fue de mis favoritos definitivamente. Para comer pedimos enchiladas tricolor y la lengua de res en salsa de tomatillo. Estos dos platillos estaban ricos. Las enchiladas un poco secas al tener los moles pero el sabor del mole era muy bueno. La lengua estaba muy rica también. Definitivamente mi favorito fue el queso. Todos estos platillos pedimos y compartimos entre dos personas lo cual fue un poco excesivo pero la verdad es que estaba todo muy rico y disfrutamos mucho nuestra experiencia al estar al exterior. I arrived very late in the evening to the city of Puebla. I was looking for a restaurant nearby my hotel, and Restauro Comedor Urbano was open. I ordered their Mole poblano, which was delicious. I didn’t know what to expect since I’ve never tried the dish, but the host assured me it is a great dish from the area. Sure enough, it was delicious, the flavor is interesting in the best way. Paired with Mexico’s own Icus One wine, the meal was spot on.
