Nestled in the heart of Querétaro’s historic center, El Encuentro is a true one-of-a-kind culinary treasure. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly blends traditional Mexican charm with modern elegance.

The menu is a delightful fusion of the rich culinary heritage of the Bajío region and innovative gastronomic techniques. I was both surprised and delighted to learn that each dish is crafted with locally sourced ingredients, ensuring freshness and authenticity. The corn fritters, tempura nopal, caldo de camarón, and wild boar meatballs, are absolute must-tries, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. For main dishes, I loved the thick chuleta al pastor (pork chop), the lasagna (champiñones y huitlacoche con albahaca) and the arrachera de venado ...so, you'll want to come again and again to enjoy everything on the menu.

The service was impeccable, with an attentive and knowledgeable chef, waitstaff who are passionate about the food they serve, and a mixologist who is truly an artist. Whether enjoying a casual lunch or a special dinner, my experience was consistently exceptional. The wine selection, featuring local producers, complements the menu perfectly, adding to our overall dining experience.

I was fortunate enough to visit a wonderful new restaurant in Queretaro City , El Encuentro. Right in the heart of the traditional centre of this beautiful city. I know the restaurant’s Executive Chef/partner, from his previous restaurant in Guanajuato - Los Campos. It was Michelin quality without a doubt. Now, Michael Dunlop has yet again raised the bar. An exceptional menu featuring all locally sourced materials (Bajio region), and a beautiful wine selection. I ordered a stunning margarita and a couple of appetizers- corn and jalapeño fritters and the wild boar meatballs in a smoked tomato sauce that was out of the world. Not only does he source everything from the area but everything there is made from scratch! No five gallon buckets of mayonnaise in that kitchen. This is a dining experience to remember and does not break the bank. I enjoyed El Encuentro so much I returned for brunch the next day, and Im pretty sure I will return before I leave the city.
